• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders in the Redwoods

The wife and I will be leaving 0600 Monday, taking the 58 to Paso Robles>Cambria. Maybe will get a bottle of wine to bring with us ... if there's room. We will go up the 1 (PCH) to Salinas and get another bottle of wine. Next day we will jump on the 101 to Eureka and arrive around noonish. Are there any Del Tacos in Eureka? Should be a winery up there somewhere. Besides marijuana, California is famous for its wine's and and cheating governor.

Following the PCH from start to finish in Cali is on my bucket list. The southern half from San Juan Capistrano to Santa Monica kinda sucks but I am looking forward to the northern half. I hope to catch the segment between Eureka and Monterey on the way back. The part north of Eureka will have to wait till next year. Maybe SpyderGirl can schedule a run on it, through OR to the 5, down to the 36, and back to Eureka. Now that would be a helluva run!

For those of you coming from the East - watch the weather in the valley - Redding, Grant's Pass, etc. If it's really hot (90+) there, it will probably be cool (60), and wet (drizzle) in the mornings, so come prepared for temps in both ranges.

Weather on the coast rarely exceeds 80, even if it' 110 in Redding.

Boy is that true :agree:

Once past Wiskeytown Lake about 10 miles it starts to cool off about 10f... Lots beautiful scenery to see, as long as CDF is not fighting any fires...

With that in mind... It would be wise to have alternate routes just in case. nojoke

For those sticking around another day, I have a run planned that includes 36, 3, and 299 for Thursday after breakfast. :)

:thumbup: Yes it is!!!!!!!! :yes::clap::ohyea:

It turns out I have a Dr's appt on the 1st, which is good, because that means I don't have to go into work that night, which means I can get some sleep and leave earlier. I'm staying at the Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn, down the street from the meet. I'm gonna have to chug a few :coffee::coffee::coffee: 5 hour energy drinks, but hope to arrive in the AM 8 - 9ish :2thumbs::2thumbs: Looking forward to meeting everyone!!!!!!! :chat:

:f_spider: on!!!

Does everyone know that SiR is being held in the State of Jefferson??

It was originally set to split from California and Oregon on December 8, 1941, and was derailed, for some odd reason…..

SpyderGril hope everyone has a fun time out there, If you and the others could try taking a lot of picture for the one's back here in the far eastern U.S. wishing we could make it out there. { WORK :(}. Better half and I used up all our vacation time between Cuba and Maggie valley, I would love to see if BPR might try setting up an avent out west in northern AZ,NV, Utah so we could make plans for that. Be safe and have fun jc.

Guess the fact that our gathering keeps getting bounced to the bottom of the stack, is an indicator of hoe few of us reside "out west". Perhaps we need to stare wearing helmets with brims, and get lassos to hang from our GPS mounts??

Are any of the "ambassadors" attending?

That would be nice. I don't think this is a sanctioned BRP event...LOL... Maybe next year, after a 100+ ryders attend this year. As far as the West/East coast thing is concerned, I am considering dying my hair red...you know, like the step child? :gaah:

We had over 300 at my BBQ and it was not a BRP sanctioned event. They only have one "sanctioned" event and that's the owners event.

As far as ambassadors go you'll have Ken there as he was one of the RT5 and maybe you could get Fred to show up seeing he lives in SoCal. :dontknow:

Wow! Three hundred and not one of them sent me so much as a BBQ rib!! :roflblack:

It would be great to have a couple Ambassadors there, of course, in the case of your BBQ, the presence of one Ambassador was required....yourself! :roflblack:
