• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders in the Bayou: Weather/Water Update

I'm local and will be helping out the staff with the event.
I'll be there Wed mid day and early Thur morning in the lobby if anyone wishes to go on an informal, unscheduled ride. Be happy to take anyone around the area if you'd like. The chance of rain increases later in the week, so if you want to get in a ride or two early, hit me up.

Message me if you want to set something up or just find me there.

I-10 closed at the TX/LA border

They just closed the interstate at the TX/LA border.

This makes it virtually impossible for us to get to the Bayou.

Looks like we're going to miss it this year. We are just not prepared to have to drive all the way from Houston, up to Shreveport just the cross the border.
Then no telling what obstacles lay in wait getting from northern LA to down the Bayou.

Man, talk about your bad timing.

Personally, i don't care if I have to ride through rain.

Fact is mother nature has closed the highway, so we're just not going to be able to make it at this point. Really PO'd about it too.

You guys travel safe out there.

Remember...turn around, don't drown.

Is 12 and 27 open, they are north of the Sabine basin and not too far from I-10.

Not sure about those lower highways except I remember seeing that 12 by Deweyville was close due to flooding.

Looking for alt routes from Houston and looks like we'd have to take 59 north to Shreveport I-20 to then catch I-49 back down to I-10 into Lafayette.

What a mess.

Thinking on taking the 59, 20, 45 route too. Going to leave earlier that planned to factor in traffic and weather.

Will arrive in Raceland when I get there.

Throw out the tools and Mama's curlers and pack the inflatable! Or at least take some life jackets and "Gater" repellant. Severe T-storms are forecast for WED-SAT. Might as well pack the lightning rods also. Had I'd known it was going to be this much fun I should have left with Joe and Ann Monday morning when they left our house. I'm always up for adventure and a challenge.

I hope it is a success and all have a great time. See everyone at Spyderfest.

Jack
