• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Spyders in OZ

Hi
My wife and I finally got to see and ride spyders today on the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia. They hired a driver training circuit for today and tomorrow and will run about 100 people through. Apparently here in Australia we are getting European spec Spyders with the 4 headlights.

They are just waiting for left hand drive headlights to arrive here to modify the shipment that is arriving in 4 weeks. We have had our deposit down for 6 months and have never seen them except on the internet. About 180 of them on the boat I understand.

Ain't we lucky!!!

:welcome: :congrats: Please post some pics of the OZ Spyders. That may be the only good Spyder you guys have in OZ. ;D :joke:

yes we too were at the test ride on the gold coast and fingers crossed we are going to get our spyder in this shipment.....dont think i can wait any longer......

I have organised for a paint job on it before i pick it up and hopefully will look like this when done....

4 headlights? :dontknow:
You mean with foglights??? or is there something I missed?

Hi,

EU model will be slightly different from US model. One of the differences is related to headlights: on EU model, hight and low beam headlights are separated. Low headlights are placed at the same slot than US but High ones are on bottom slot, where you guys, may put fog lights :doorag:

I would be concerned with the European headlight spacing from a safety standpoint more so than with those on the US version. The size and distance between the lights may confuse oncoming traffic into thinking that the Spyder is a car and that it is at a much greater distance than it actually is. This might make a vehicle coming from the opposite direction think it safe to pass slower moving traffic and increase the potential for a head on with the Spyder.

I think I like the Fog Light, Driving Light or whatever kind of light you prefer option rather than the high&Low beams filling 4 holes. I haven't driven mine at night yet but if the lighting is 1/2 as well engineered as the rest of the bike current lighting should be just fine.
