• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders and parades

I am a Patriot Guard rider and have a 2011 RT SE5. I would love to participate in things like Veterans Day and July 4th parades. I am terribly afraid of these events as they put the bike in a position to ride very slowly for a considerable distance and time. I see posts of folks doing this but doesn't this place a ton of problems squarely on the clutch since it probably never fully engages??

 Kind of...
You're right; the clutches probably aren't spinning fast enough to be fully engaged... :yikes:
BUT...
It's a low-load situation, and the transmission gears are probably taking up a lot of the stresses that might otherwise get to the clutch plates.
Just go easy on the throttle, and try to keep it spinning as fast as you can; you should be fine!

Shifting between N and First should be all you need in a parade. No other gears should be needed at parade speeds.

They have parades here and use a lot of HD and GW. I also hear of overheating issues from the drivers.

The new cooling system on the 2014 RT's may be better. I was in the drive up lane at McD's yesterday--four cars ahead of me--the fans kicked on and off about four times.

I'm also PGR and have done many parades and escorts with no problems,me and the other trikes normally take the "tail gun charlie"spot as is is safer then mixing with the bike in staggered configuration. We just had a great Veterans day parade thought town, love these rydes!

I've ridden in the Patriot Guard, Parades and Toy Runs numerous times with mine (as have others in this area) and never had any problems what so ever. There were around 20 of us who rode in a local Veterans Day parade last Tuesday...all of us had SE5s or SE6s...and no one had any problems. We rode most of the time around 2 and 5 mph. No overheating, no transmission slipping, no problems.

Ride in the parades...it's well worth it.

Depends..!

though not the greatest of vehicles for parades if the weather, distance, loads and areas are favorable they will work fine. Staying to the rear and having an out is the best placement....

Conserns point that you will take proper care of your spyder:) now to decorateImageUploadedByTapatalk1416122121.749329.jpg. Enjoy & let us know plz im also looking to join PGR & have SE5. School zone close to house makes for regular practice under 15mph ,not quite parade but has me wondering now. Thx
