Not able to make this year

Unfortunately Donna and I won't be able to make it this year. I had back surgery on July 11th and Donna is having back surgery on September 5th. Hope everyone has a great time and that the weather cooperates. Be safe and we'll see everyone there next year.

SpyderQuest Cancellation

Unfortunately I had to cancel my hotel reservations today at GEL due to a family medical emergency. My family is old and getting older and thinning out by the day. I filed a complaint with GEL as they demand a 7 day cancellation to get my deposit back ($128.00). I also emailed SpyderQuest in an effort to get back my $95.00 I gave them for their festivities. I don't know SpyderQuests level of customer service so I'll keep everyone posted. Regardless, family comes before festivities.

Cancelling at the last minute and you want a refund??? And...you were surprised that the GEL wouldn't give you a refund??? You didn't book the room through Expedia or something, you booked it direct. If you looked at their booking policy you would see that they require 7 days notice to cancel.

As for Spyderquest, the money has probably been allocated to the food and such, so I doubt they have anything left to refund you. This is not a money making venture for them. They don't have excess cash. Sorry, but I don't think you should get a refund this late in the game. Doesn't matter the reason. Just my opinion, though.

the confirmation that you got from GEL, when you registered, states:
cancel before 7 days of reservation, $25 fee
within 7 days, deposit subject to no refund....

So.... You made out!
