• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderpops block off plate and 2013 RT

So what are the ramifications when installing the block off plate on a 2013 since the lower plate cannot be removed? Will it make a difference? Even if I do get the plate off and drill a couple 3 " hole in the swoop will that suffice? Just what should a 2013 owner do? I do get the hot foot from time to time.

I had the block-off plate installed by Spyderpops on my 2013 Ltd. at the Owner's Event. I don't have any problems with it but I'm not sure it's working either. Anytime the temp gauge is about 80 degrees, my right foot starts getting warm.

I've also installed Baker Air wings and they help but do not eliminate the problem.

My next thing to try is the ISCI Fan Can but as of last week when I talked with them, it's not available yet for the 2013 RT. They told me it may be a month or two before it's available.

Same as other years. I have it on my 2013 and haven't had any issues.

Yeah but does it work? Other years are supposed to take off lower plate allowing the flow to go under the bike. 2013 no can do and it wouldn't matter if you did it is enclosed swoop. All it is doing is shooting more heat out the lower hole I do not see that helping much if at all. Remember heat rises and as it comes out that(lower) hole it will rise into you leg.

I have a 2013 RT equipped with the foot boards instead of pegs. Being short of inseam, I see no need for highway pegs, so my question would be, has anyone used the LOWER block-off panel? Results?? Any help with the foot heat? I don't experience excessive foot heat, but it is noticeable. Also, does the lower splash panel swing down for removal like the previous machines? Looks a bit different. Thanx!

And, as soon as I ask the question, someone has already answered it about the splash panel. But Pops is still advertising block-off plates for the 2013's. :dontknow:

They will fit but you are right the panel removal is different so what is the sense in doing it? That is the whole reason for this thread

I have only to block the upper panel, the heat comes out by the bottom one. I don't feel much heat on my NVB highway pegs, which are right next to the upper vent hole.

Well I have Seal DLX floor boards and the foot rest sits just in front of the lowers hole. Most of it is below but part of the lower hole ( upper corner) shoots right at your foot if you use it. Still looking for best way to deal with upper plate and routing air out of the box. I know someone will come along and say drill holes in the swoop but there is already enough hot air under the Tupperware going to the seat area. I know it will be OK in cooler weather but we have 5 mo. of 90deg weather around here.

I have a 2013 RT Basic, i have the upper block off plate, i have drilled three holes in the lower section of the cavity behind the fan and i eliminated some of the underneath plastic plate on the right side and drilled two holes in it to allow an orderly flow of air. The heat is no longer on my right foot and the Spyder is running in normal heat range with no problems. If you want it to work to its fullest advantage, you will have to make sure the heat has a place to go if you block off the upper vent. I have not blocked the lower vent. I have the NBV Highway Pegs and the Seal Pup Floorboards.
