• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

"Subs"... so named for all of the dailey deliveries to the submarine building facilities around Groton, Ct. :2thumbs:
I don't remember the background for "Hoagie", "Grinder", "Po-Boy" or "Hero" :opps:
Can anybody help out?

Hoagie, Came from the workers sandwiches during WW 2 at Hog Island Philadelphia's Navy yard.

Just to add Hero was coined because, You had to be a Hero to finish one, Now remember back then 1930's? they stuffed those sandwiches to the gills, Not like those 11 and a half inch, Under stuffed you get at that Major chain.

Also know as a "Grinder" in some states..

A submarine sandwich, also known as a hero sandwich, Italian Sandwich, sub, hoagie, torpedo, baguette or grinder amongst many regional naming variations, is a sandwich that consists of a long roll of Italian or French bread, split lengthwise either into two pieces or opened in a "V" on one side, and filled with a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables, seasonings, and sauces.

And then there's the infamous Lobster Roll that I absolutely love....

Here in the Old North State a shopping cart is refered to as a buggy. One time we were visiting my sister in PA, my brother in law and I went to the grocery store I asked him if we needed a buggy, he said "the only people up here with buggies are the Amish".
