Spyderlovers Cruise & Key West Ryde.Dec 2014

This is great to see so many are interested. All I can say is we are still in the 70-80's each day here and no humidity. The scenery down to the Florida keys and the beaches is awesome and to top it off with a cruise would be the icing! For you guys coming down and staying perhaps an extra day or two I would suggest staying close to the boardwalk in Hollywood beach. Almost 4 miles of boardwalk with restaurant, shops and white sandy beaches. Great for walks and bike ride. Let me know if you need any local info and I'll be happy to help. Looking forward to seeing you guys visit SFL.

Reggy
Weather is 75degrees today.No humidity.

cruise

I want to go but I need a roommate. I went on the high seas rally in november and it was a blast. This is much cheaper and I can get a vacation then. Would have to ship
Bike to florida and take a flight. Thats about $700.00. Does anybody know if we can rent a spyder there?

I can't speak for South, Flarda, but many dealers in the Central Flarda area will rent.

Spyderlovers from various states are signing up.

Lamonster of Spyderlovers,Reggy of Tricled and myself of Sunbird Cruise &Travel have been in discussion about having a Spyder Cruise as well as a 2 day ryde through The Keys from Ft Lauderdale to Key West. and have held 50 cabins at a knocked down rate on Royal Caribbeans Liberty of The Seas 4 nt cruise 11th-15th Dec.We have balcony cabins @$555.00per person and inside cabins @$430.00per person. These prices include all port charges and gvt fees which total $179.30pp.There are no big Spyder events this time of year and a cruise on one of the top Royal Caribbean ships at a price like this coupled with a 2 day ryde from Ft Lauderdale through The Florida Keys to Key West sounds like a lot of fun..The itinerary of the cruise is 11 Dec board at midday,12th Dec at sea,13 Dec Cozumel,14 DecAt sea.15 Dec arrive back in Ft Lauderdale 7am when Reggy would lead the 2 day trip to Key West. For those who did not wish to ride their Spyder to Florida it would be ok to fly and take the cruise only.Deposit for the cruise is $100.00 per person and is fully refundable until Sept 10th,2014.
We have a group rate at The Rodeway Inn & Suites in Ft Lauderdale situated 2 miles from The Ocean.Hotel has outside tropical heated swimming ,pool, rest, sports bar as well as many other amenities.Rate is $89.99 per night instead of $149 plus tax. This is from the 8th Dec so you may stay 1,2 or 3 nights as you wish.Safe parking for the Spyders will be at the hotel whilst you are on your cruise and is included in the nightly rate.Transfers to and from the hotel to the cruise ship are also included in the nightly rate.
There will be 2 rides prior to the cruise An Oceanside ride to South Beach, and a ride to Everglades National Park, where Airboat rides can be taken.
It is a possibility we might be able to get BRP to put a couple of 2015 models onto the shipProbably Lamont and Reggy would be aboard so seminars on Spyders would be arranged

I know the various beach clubs in Cozumel so would arrange a day at the beach there.Alternatively scooters or cars can be hired as well as diving or boating excursions arranged.
To register and sign up for cruise and or hotels call Ivor or Mark at Sunbird 561-731-

I was at the port yesterday and this is usually the view we see, it's just enormous. Especially when you see it next to a corporate office or a parking lot. So for anyone thinking about the cruise next year I think this will be a blast. Florida in the winter time and riding in your shorts and tee's. plus the Key West ride and watching the sunset from the pier is amazing. Looking forward to my first cruise!

Reggy, yes it is a big ship as it was the largest cruise ship along with her sister ships, Freedom and Independence until almost 3 years ago when Oasis set sail. The port at Ft. Lauderdale was built to accommodate Oasis, and is the best port that I have been to. So everyone going will have a great time although it is a bit short for me, but for the newbies it will give you taste of what cruising is all about. Here is a tip to the first timers, get the early dining sitting and order as much as you want, 4 appetizers, 2 entries, and 2 desserts is not out of the ordinary. I have had as many as 5 lobsters, don't know if you will get these on a short cruise, but hopefully you get my drift.

The Liberty is a beautiful ship Reggy. Perfect for a short 4 day cruise coupled with the few nights before and Rydes and then the 2 day Key West trip makes for a really nice week at the end of what we hope is a great riding year for Spyders. As you say with the great weather coupled with everything else hopefully will make a great Spyder event.Sign ups are coming in nicely from various states.

Cindy & I opted for the 6:00 P.M., dinners. I felt like by eating just a bit earlier, we could enjoy some of the ship a bit more. Would love to see and meet many on this cruise. It really gives meaning to the term vacation.

Food for thought for some. Hitch onto Auto Train in Lorton, Va., and stop in Sanford, Flarda. You're only 4 to 5 hours to the destination point from there.

The Autotrain is a good idea for those from the Northeast who do not want to ryde down.I did a trip to Nova Scotia last July and used it with my Spyder to go North.

It was a balmy 82 degrees in the MiamAH area yesterday. So for all you folks up north freezing your butts off, just think of what a nice cruise and ride down this way would be like next year. As Jerry Lee Lewis would say in many of his songs. "Think about it".

Chris

We'll see you for dinner at 6pm!

Hubby and I are signed up too and can't wait for the fun to begin.:clap::clap: We also signed up for the early dinner, so we will be ready to go first thing in the morning every day!!!:yes::yes: Given the weather up here in the Midwest (today it's 3 dgrees), and the distance, we are going to trailer the bikes down. But what a great way to break up the dreary winter. I can't wait!!!!! :D:D:D

Ryde and lunch to The Liberty of the Seas Feb15th.

On Saturday 15th Feb we have arranged for a Spyder ryde to The Liberty of the Seas the ship The Spydercruise is on.A guided tour of the ship and a full sit down 3 course meal will be served.Space is limited. For anyone wanting to attend pls look on the Florida section at the thread concerning this where you can register.

this sounds like a lot of fun....but we have too much family we spend time with at the holidays...timing is not good for us...have fun and if something changes...you will hear from me

For those of you in the Northeast right now (especially you Roger) just think how nice it would be to take your spyder via Autotrain and come to Flarda this coming December to enjoy a few days of down right rest and relaxation not to mention the chamber of commerce weather.

Ya'll need to take Ivor up on this great deal.

Chris

My wife and I have booked the Cruise also. We also booked the cruise right after this one. Same ship/room different ports. Back to back cruise. We will be cruising from Dec 11th - 20th.
