• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We had a chance to meet trikester yesterday and had a great ride with him as our guide in the Borrego Desert, CA. He showed us the trikester he has on his avatar and another one of his inventions in biking. He has been involved in that part of the country...hiking, exploring, and researching. His knowledge of the history helped us enjoy the ride by giving us a mental glimpse into the past. Had it not been for SpyderLovers.com we would have never met Frank, and would have missed someone special. We had stopped on the side of the road overlooking Borrego Springs, when a group of 4 Harley riders and one Goldwing pulled up and stopped about 100 feet ahead of us. We looked, they looked, we waved, they waved. One of them came over and we started talking, then before you know it, we were all shaking hands, talking and laughing like we hadn't seen each other for a while! We all sat together at a restaurant in Borrego Springs and had a good lunch and friendly gathering. Once again the love of the outdoors and the freedom of riding brought together people with one common love...Riding! When we left the restaurant, the ambiant temperature on the Spyder glass was 109F. Gotta love the desert!

I had the chance to ride with trikester when I was in San Diego. He;s the only one who showed up for the ride we had planned. Good guy for sure. :doorag:

Yes he mentioned that he had ridden "with" you. lol Sorta! From the way he described it, you are the Twisties King! He enjoyed meeting you and told us we were the second Spyder riders he had met.

I don't know about that but I have ridden those roads hundreds of times, just never on a Spyder.:doorag:

Great photos, Dudley! Maybe those Harley riders liked us because I was wearing a Harley T-shirt that day. :D

Good memories of meeting and riding with you both that day. We'll have to do some more!

Yes you two and Lamonster are the only Spyder riders that I've met and riden with, so far. If all others are like the three of you, then that confirms; it is a great group of Spyder riders.

Smokester and I have talked about doing a ride but haven't done so yet. I met him parked near my house, just a week before my Spyder was delivered (April 10, 08).

BTW - If anyone who looks at his photos wonders what that recumbent bike with the big tires is; it's an off road "moped" (30cc) able to ride sandy washes as well as nasty dirt trails. I built two of those. The photo isn't very clear because I haven't ridden it in so long it has a bunch of stuff piled on the seat. Isn't that what happens to everything that sits in a garage for awhile? I'm estimating that I put about 1000 miles, of mostly dirt riding, on that bike.
