SpyderLovers Banner Run!

By any chance will the banner be in MO for the USO run on the 13th? If so, I can take it from there to West Virginia

I am not sure when it is getting to IN I think the plan is on the 9th. I know BMWGene stated something about getting it to STL by the 22nd. I just know I have to pick up the banner on the 22nd of June. I will be driving through IN and all the way thru MO on that day. I will be handing it off to Lamont on that evening when we meet up in OK. The banner then will be en route to Los Angeles. So if you somehow get the banner to West Virginia, Please make sure you can get it back to IN or MO by the 22nd. Thanks.

Banner update

The banner and sharpie are now back in OH, here are a couple of photos of the handoff of the banner and the sharpie from MSGTDOC to Tim Johnson in Warren OH.

From here, I assume Tim took it home to Cleveland until he meets up with 8Legs on June 9th. Then it is off to Indiana.

Tim can you update the map on the home page?

I won't be getting back that way anytime soon BUT...if anyone from the Northeast is going to LA by way of I-70 or the PA turnpike, I can meet them and hand the banner off.

If I have the banner any time before the 22nd. I can and will meet with you for the hand off on the 22.
I plan on riding with you when you get to Missouri.
As the date gets closer we can make plans for what time to meet.

Absolutely, you are not the only MO SpyderLover that has contacted me and wants to ride through the state. You have a great group there. We will most definitely get some concrete plans in place as the date draws nearer. I am thinking we could meet just on the west side of St Louis out of the congestion. Right now, off the top of my head I would think we will be there in the early afternoon. A couple of days before we leave, we will firm up all the times and arrangements and we can exchange phone numbers to contact each other as plans can change or get interrupted mid stream. I am truly looking forward to it.

OH 8Legs
You are just 300 miles from STL!!!
Now if an Ill spyder would meet you at the state line we could pick it up at the Missouri line and hold it for Deb and her Michigan riders on the 22nd.
Plus we would show the banner a good time.
smilingene

Well, I dont know about an ill spyder, but how about an IL spyder? I might be able to move it towards St. Louis. My dealer is in Hoopston IL, so not too far from Logansport, it might be a good place to meet. I would imagine someone from Mid-am spyder group could meet me at Springfield or something.

The plan is to meet at Honda East on the 9th, and hand off there sometime around noon or 1. If it is storming I'll pick it up in the Jeep and we will have a signing later for the people who don't make the trip. Will have to wait and see about the hand-off to an Illinois Spyder depending on how the 9th goes. The only thing is, I only have 1 day available to take the banner to Hoopston before the 22nd. My work schedule is awful.

I am open to ideas!

Tina

I did get my new bags this week and have them installed. So far I LOVE them.

I'll be returning to IL later this week, and will try to make a connection with ya'all (that's Texan) about the banner at that time. I do not have to return to work until June 14; so I may be able to make another journey!!:2thumbs: THANKS!! Bmwgene:thumbup: for trying to keep me informed!! Headed for "HILL COUNTRY" :ohyea:tomorrow!!

Minnesota?

I am in Minneapolis Minnesota and can touch or cross any of the following in addition to MN . . . Wisconsin, the UP, Iowa, ND or SD. My time is very flexible and riding 300 miles or more in a day is no big deal. Count me in if I can help in any way . . . it would be a massive privilege:bowdown:

CanMan

P.S. I am well connected with the local media if that is helpful.

CanMan,

I'll be leaving here in a few minutes to ride and meet up with everyone else. The weather looks to be good! :2thumbs: We will be meeting Tim and his wife in Maumee, Ohio at Honda East around 12:30 - 1:00. Hope everything goes well.

I'm off. :spyder:

Banner is still in Ohio. Superfly3 rode from Elkhart and met up with me. We were almost to Fort Wayne when Tim called and said he couldn't make it. I did manage to get into contact with John & Dick from Southern Indiana and let them know.

I only have 1 day off before the 22, so I don't how to get the banner to you Deb. Thank goodness I had my Zumo/phone/scala rider hook-up. Greg and I were very disappointed. This was going to be our first long ride on the Spyder.

Yeah, Thanks for letting us know Tina. I don't have the phone set-up you so but I did have my cellphone in the top pocket of my tank bag where I could see it so I noticed you called. John had left his cell at home but lucky we had gotten together and only driven 20 miles north of Indy.(course John, aka retread, had already driven 50 miles to meet me.)
Glad you had the set up you did. It would not have been too cool to have driven 225 miles to Toledo and noone there to meet us:gaah::yikes:.

I will see if Tim can meet me in Toledo this Sat or Sun and pick up the banner. Then we will figure it out from there. So sorry you didn't get your good ride in but I am glad you didn't have to waste the whole day.

It wasn't a total loss we got a good ride in and met Tina, wished could have met more of you guys, maybe next time.I was disappointed but was a good thing we found out before we got to toledo.:gaah:

I have it. Ready to go the LA in a week:agree:
Dick

As Dick mentioned the banner is finally in IN. I started banner map number 3 since it didn't get handed off from Cleveland, unfortunately it had to be mailed, but at least it is still going now. Here is the link starting in Carmel, IN.
Banner map 3

Hopefully we can have an unbroken chain for quite a while now. Can't wait to meet many of you on the way and a bunch of you in LA. Talk about a banner signing there. Wow, we might need an extra banner just for the signatures.
