• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest

This is our first spyder fest also. Can not wait, all I have to do is get the bike ready to go. Does any one know if there is a place to wash bikes at the lamplighter inn south?

If you book into Lamplighter South you'll be four or five miles from the host hotels and further from the fairground and almost certainly 'LL South' will not have Bike washing facilities.
HTH ;)

Thank you everyone for your replys but LL north is all booked up. I am just going on what everyone is saying that the LL is a good place to stay

LL North is a good place to stay. But if you can't book there, try one of the other host hotels, or one of the others in that immediate area. JMHO

there are several hotels on the North end of Glenstone from the Lamplighter to Pitbull Power Sports. I know several still have some rooms available.

Being a newby, I too plan on coming from WA for the first time. I am thinking that there is no way that I will ride my bike that far, so I bought a trailer, yesterday, see pix. I've never actually pulled a trailer other than around town to Lowes/HD. I picked it up in Portland, OR about 225 miles away. It towed smoothly, but cut my gas mileage by 1/3. I had to have the trailer weighted to register it and it weights 900#. I know that the bike weights about 800#. I'm towing with a Honda Odyssey.

How much does weight play a factor verse wind resistance? The trailer has 2x6 treated floor boards, I imagine that they could be replaced with expanded metal.

Any wisdom would be appreciated.

I don't know the Math; but there's no doubt that the aerodynamics of the trailer (Think "Big Old Barn Door"), play a much larger role that the weight.
Once you get it rolling; the "weight factor" diminishes...

You'll really notice the difference going up the mountains, though.

I say ride the thing to Missouri. If you need a guide, get in touch with Murphy Brown!
