• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest Weather?

Weather will be what it wants to be....BUT

I can control how I respond to it...always make sure I have plenty of clothes for all weather conditions and great rain gear...I refuse to let weather rob my joy or dampened the awesomeness of Spyderfest. Now hopefully I will make wise choices when I depart Monday...right now my first choice is not looking good...but a lot can change in 4 days. Worse case scenario I will have to change directions...not life threatening...now if I would (for me) make a stupid decision and ryde into a snow/ice/tornado (knowing it was in front of me)...then it is a shame on me...now if Ma Nature throws that unexpected ugly weather without any warning...well, then I make the decision....ahhhh decisions, decisions....:dontknow:

Of course MOGANG has been working on weather. We are :pray::pray::pray: every night. One thing about Missouri, if you don't like the weather just wait a bit, it will change. As everyone has indicated, yes bring both rain gear and winter gear or whatever you do to keep warm. Even it is rains we always still have fun....and we ride!!

Getting closer, only 2 weeks till start of Spyderfest.... less than that before I ride to Springfield.:yes:

I think it was two years ago when there was some of the worst weather all around the event and some folks that planned on coming got scared off, even some that were in trucks trailers. Turned out that the weather was bad all around the event but not where we were. Ron and I rode through some nasty stuff but I'm glad I didn't let the forecast deter me from going. Plan for wet and pray for dry. The weather is what it is. :doorag:

Ditto

Yep that was a trip to write about...but I just rode like I knew where I was going...oh that I did...and found lots of places to park to be out of the worst as I layered up/rain geared, etc. etc.....so glad I didn't allow weather to stop me. Spyderfest is one of those events that is a priority in my life...right after Christmas, Easter (and grandkids activities)...altho the grandkids activities will be on hold (txt/phone works) for a couple months. My new tool kit (Lamont recommended) is being delivered today...and my check list is complete...Hurry up Monday 6:30 a.m.....I am READY :yes:

:agree: Yep... Spyderfest '11... Getting in and out was a mess, but it was like someone up there  wanted us to have fun in Cuba, MO!

Sadly..!!

we can't make it. But so far have seen groups routes, weather reporting what to pack a full food review pics of the location....it's like we are on our way lacking only the driving (second best part) and all the folks that made it possible and you all (best part) enjoy it's going to be the best ever..!! :2thumbs:

The snow just won't seem to go away this year for any of us. I am hoping that you folks will have great driving weather to, from, and during Spyderfest.

We just got a foot and a half of snow over the last three days--but the forcast is now for sunny and temps in the low to mid thirties. The melt should be on again.

I currently have more snow in my backyard than I had all winter. My ranch fence is buried up to the top inch of the fenceposts.

So much for global warming. :roflblack:

"Global Warming"... Don't you just want to grab the nitwit by the throat who thought this one up? :gaah: Sorry to hear that your Winter is as unrelenting as ours! Hang in there! The Black Fly and Mosquito season has to be coming! ;)

Looking forward to the upcoming seasons. The mosquito season (here B-52's) usually hits about the first of May. Time will tell this year. They are usually bad around here until the end of May and then no problems.

Black Flies: have not encountered any here--but--sure remember them from when I lived in Minnesota. I did a lot of Boundary Waters Canoe Area camping, and the black flies could be absolutely relentless on the portages and at the campsites. Like Mongo in Blazing Saddles, you didn't kill them, you just made them mad. :roflblack:

Boy, this guy was dead wrong

The snow finally melted at my house just last week, and the temperatures are finally getting out of the 30's and 40's here in VT so the 60's and 70's predicted for Spyderfest sound like paradise! :bbq:
