Spyderfest Temps?

I had given the packitrack a thought but decided on a 18 cu ft trailer, however you can get a 14 cu ft for about $1,200 and have plenty of room.
I am packing my First Gear Thermal suit just in case. I have found that a space bag will pull that suit down to about a 1.5 inch 24 inch square.

If I traveled much, especially two up, I'd definitely want a trailer but this is likely the only two up trip I'll ever make. I got the aftermarket hitch and rack at a good price and if I ever need a trailer all I'll have to do is add the wires.

I'm coming from Australia for your Spyderfest event. I've been reading up with interest on the weather over there for early May. Reading some of the posts, it could be a mixed bag. Do I take a chance on warm weather? If not, there goes my luggage allowance.

If I were you, I'd just bring an extra fleece and the raingear and buy whatever else I might need here. Could be less expensive than the luggage allowance, and you can always mail it back home. You could even make arrangements with Len to mail ship some stuff ahead of you, so you didn't need to take it on the plane.

All good advice above. Be prepared for the worst and you won't be disappointed. Lately, we can't count on the weather to do A or B for sure.

We have the exact saying for Melbourne Victoria in Oz

I did a look at the past 20 years for the period April 30-May 4 in Springfield MO. Here's what I found:

Chance of at least one day with the high above 70* - 63%
Chance of at least one day with the high below 60* - 26%

Chance of at least one day with the low above 50* - 60%
Chance of at least one day with the low below 40* - 23%

Chance of at least one day with precipitation less that .01" - 81%
Chance of at least one day with precipitation more than .50" - 23%

April 30 and May 4 were historically the warmest and driest days. May 2 was historically the coldest day.

All that being said, there's an excellent chance of at least one cold, wet day and one hot, dry day. In reality, it is a crap shoot that time of year.
