There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyderfest Temps?

My daughter is flying in from NM to meet me during Spyderfest and then riding home with me. We plan on touring a bit on the way.
I don't have a trailer so space will be at a minimum.

Whats the lowest temp I should prepare for?

best thing to plan on is bring some of everything temps could be in the 30's to the upper 80's at that timenojoke..never know what mother nature will hand out

Last year it got real cold but this year we hope that with this long cold winter it will be nice but I wouldn't count on it. It's better to bring warm gear and not need it than to need warm gear and not have it.

if space on your Spyder is tight ................... Send a box of clothes by UPS or FEDEX to your hotel and when you get ready to leave ship the clothes back home and don't worry about space.

I have only made one multi-day trip so not an expert by any means. We chose our clothing that could be worn in layers, and that worked well for the changing temps/weather. Even without a trailer, but with a rear rack we were able to pack for 4-5 days. Our backup plan "There is all ways a Wal-mart"

:agree: When we arrived last Aoril; it was 37 degrees, and raining as if the Good Lord might have been working on a plan... :yikes:
Then it warmed up into the seventies...
Joe's right; ship some stuff down, and then ship some stuff home...
It'll give you more room for carrying home fresh farkles! :D

:agree:

Layer up or down as temp dictates but make sure you have rain gear that comfortably fits over the max layers.

If temps are good upper 70s and sunny. Worst case is damp and lower 40s. But no promises. LOL.

But make sure you have good rain gear on any long trip.

Wear the warmest riding gear you have (within reason). I'd also suggest bringing some extra fleece and windblocking layers, but they can usually be purchased locally in a pinch. It is better to sweat than to shiver, as far as I am concerned, so if you have to leave something at home, leave the lightweight stuff, especially if your heavier riding gear is well ventilated. And don't forget the rain gear.

All good advice above. Be prepared for the worst and you won't be disappointed. Lately, we can't count on the weather to do A or B for sure.

All good points. Scotty/Nancy's toy, as usual, has it all down in the shortest amount of words. Rain gear that fits over layers is godsent.
Try out different combo before you leave
Good Luck and have fun

based on the weather last year, and this seeming never ending winter this year, I am coming prepared for anything and everything

layer, layer, layer - thats your best bet (along with rain gear)

Good feedback from all of you: much appreciated.

I'll take plenty of warm stuff. I've ordered an aftermarket hitch and rack so I should have ample room. If not, theres always a Walmart near.:D

I have gotten wet every spyderfest so bring rain gear, and hope you won't need it.

A Seal Tote Rack might just be the ticket for that extra carry on bag full of warm clothes. It's this month's "Seal Deal of the Month". Check it out:thumbup:. When you head for SpyderFesst you'll want to………….

Ride in comfort,

John has lots of experience with being wet, just see the photo below from his first day at Spyderfest in 2011:roflblack:

How much weight will rack carry?

I can imagine what overweight would do to the handling; I've pulled unbalanced trailers before with a car and its like the tail wagging the dog, but for those who have used a rack, what do you feel is a safe weight? And how does a passenger affect it?

I'm thinking 20-25lbs?

I guess the best thing is to get everything installed and weigh a load for a trial run.

I had given the packitrack a thought but decided on a 18 cu ft trailer, however you can get a 14 cu ft for about $1,200 and have plenty of room.
I am packing my First Gear Thermal suit just in case. I have found that a space bag will pull that suit down to about a 1.5 inch 24 inch square.
