There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Better yet, How about a Spyderfest sticky that lists current count, current spyderlovers attending, and links to promotional threads for spyderfest.
Then all your info is in 1 place and stickied and locked so just Steve can Edit it, and its always right there, then when the time comes and its over, it can be unsticked and archieved.

All good ideas above. I have wondered about the various posts and having one "Official" one will be a good way to go.
I think Lamont may have already made this one Sticky, but I'll beg his forgiveness and ask him to put a sticky on the new "Official SpyderFest 2012 Post" and I'll keep a running tab on registrants for everyone and also post all the updates there.
As we continually say, SpyderFest is an event for SpyderLovers, by SpyderLovers!!!
So, Thanks for the suggestion!
I'll create that new post in a few minutes and see if our "Webmaster, Webmaster Named Lamont" will take care of it for us!

I just spoke with Lamont and yes I think he does want everyone to join that group, but the Sticky Thread on the General Discussion page will probably catch more peoples eye and also prompt them to go join the groups page as it is a little harder to find, especially for new SpyderLovers who join the site daily.

I was about to ask I saw registration number #1140 , I was about to FREAK FREAK OUT thats a LOT of spyders could Cuba handle that . I have to double check with the wife to make sure but I think im good to go !

pps: I think it was a little bit of both. That countdown is to when I get my :spyder2: out of storage (weather permitting).The correct current countdown would be: 4 months, 2 days and 17 hours . . .
