• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest 2014

Me Too!

I share a bed with Pitbull and even I don't have the dates yet!!! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I think the last time he did that to me, I ended up 2 weeks from a baby being born--you would have thought that taught him!!!

At any rate, I know a few of the ideas floating around in his head (although he hasn't figured out how to ensure 60-75 degrees and sun everyday, but we are working that one). I don't think anyone will be disappointed! Between his crazy ideas, the warm MoGang welcomes, beautiful countryside with miles of highway, vendors with plenty of farkles, and hotels full of Spyderlovers I think everyone will have a GREAT time!

SPYDERFEST

AHHHH Spyderfest...spyderfest.... ok folks got lots going on, on next years event. I honestly don't l don't know how we pulled this years event off in the short time frame we had to make it happen. I can only say thanks to all of our support, it came together with a lot of love. Lots of plans for next years event are rolling around in my he on how to make it work and simpler and more fun......won't be easy I know but next year I won't be opening a new store 6 weeks before the event!!!......or will I......:dontknow:

Thanks for "priming the pumps" just a little bit in here! :2thumbs:
Should we hope to see 2000 in attendance for '14?? :dontknow:

keep us posted Len, and hopefully we can put Joe someplace where he will cause the least amount of mayhem and heehaw......

I think they really raised the bar by pulling it together in a short time in '13.

Just think what can be done with a whole year to plan!

I have nothing but praise for the MOGang and Pittbull...It takes a lot of work by many to put something like this together on an annual basis and unlike a lot of events...thier hearts are what drives this great event...We need to be grateful for all the efforts they put into making this the best event of the year for Spyderlovers and we should also be thankful for the efforts Lamont puts into managing the site...doing the BBQ, acting as an ambassator for BRP..not to mention people like Scotty, BajaRon and some others that guide us thru the complexities of the Spyder..It's a unique crowd...you either love the Spyder or hate it..There's no in between.

If I recall it was Kumbaya wasn't it? Roasted S'mores on the fireplace too
Yup! Then we we were all tucked-in safely, and off to dreamland for a good night's sleep... :roflblack:

Well... That's the story I told the Missus, and I've GOT to stick to it if I hope to be allowed out again...

Maybe I should fly over for some of this....

Along with Dave & Ted's Excellent Adventures I also very much enjoy reading the Spyderfest stories and
people's experiences while there.

I really have to get my a$$ into gear and share some of this merriment, enthusiasm and Bacchanalian delights.

All I have to do is book a hotel/motel then book a flight to the nearest International airport and then rent a car and drive there.
Piece of cake....I think :hun:
Would also like to hang around for the next LaMonster BBQ .
Any advice on the easiest way to do this? Best airport/car rental company?

Lamont's BBQ is in eastern Tennessee, quite a ways from Spyderfest, which is in Springfield, Missouri. Nearest big airports would be Kansas City (KCI) or St. Louis (STL), but you probably can't fly direct to either of them without clearing customs in Chicago (ORD) or Atlanta (ATL). Springfield also has a commercial airport, but it may be cheaper to drive from KC or StL.

(KCI is designated as "international" but I've never flown in/out from there for international travel.)

Well Joe, his secret is not safe with me.

Bob, I will send you a PM with my farkle account info. I will expect a monthly donation to keep my mouth shut.

Sorry Bob....I'm a bit dense! We have a National lottery and a Euro-Lottery but the odds of
winning are similar to those of getting struck by lightning in a subway! Are you suggesting that it's
going to be an expensive l'il trip? The air fare alone is likely to come out at around $1000!

@Prairiespyder:
Thanks for that Patti, Yes I can see it's around 700 miles from Springfield to Mosheim!
May be treat it like two separate trips and have separate rental cars etc. and fly between the two places
via local airports. Something to look into. Thanks again!

As they say over here; "You've got to be in it; to win it!"
I managed to NOT go crazy with spending at SpyderFest, and kept my total expenses pretty light... It really comes down to it costing what you make it cost... (Once the logistics have been worked out!)
