SpyderFest 2011 - Ladies Ride

Thanks Yazz. I know this will be a great ride for everyone that participates and it is so fantastic for you and Spyderlady to head it up. I am sure I will catch you on some of the other rides so you have a great time on your Friday shopping trip.

I am really interested in the Elephant Rock Ride if it isn't a men's only ride. LOL.. Hey MurphyBrown, maybe we can scope out some twisties in our free time. (if there is any)

Wahoo I'm in. Just put my name on the "do Elephant Rock Ride...:ohyea:

Getting Excited

I can't wait for the ladies ride and the opportunity to meet new friends. Guaranteed Yazz and I have a full day of fun and riding planned for the ladies.

Girl Time

To help tease all you ladies a bit..... we will have a drawing for a $100 gift certificate to Colorado Chaps. I have a pair and love them so much more than leathers. They are warmer and much easier to put on.

Also for those that don't like to shop all of us could just sit in Vista Grande and get to know each other and share Spyder stories. I too do not really like to shop, but am going on the ride to have some GIRL time.

Yazz..... how much time did we allow for shopping. That might be good to let everyone know.

Confused,
Is this for ladies on Spyders or in the vans that will be provided or both?

Sorry Doug, no loop-holes for gentlemen on the ride. Except the van driver who will tote our treasures around for us. :D

The van is for lady Spyder passengers who want to go shopping with us.

Yazz... I found it. Ladies we plan on arriving Vista Grande around 11:00. We will depart to return to Cuba at 1:30 SHARP.

This is what the Spyderfest rides were set up to be. Something for everybody! :2thumbs:

You don't have to go very far outside of Cuba to catch some great twisties. Enjoy your time at Spyderfest and do what makes you happy.

Count me in (Ladybug). I'm sure Pharmgirl will want to go too. I'll give her a holler.

Welcome Ladybug! This is going to be a great ride. Looking forward to Pharmgirl joining our fun too.

Hey Yazz -- Sounds like fun. If Dan doesn't have anything planned for us, I might go. :2thumbs:

I don't think Dan would be allowed on the Ladies Ride even if he wore his fancy "hidden helmet." :roflblack:

Maybe he could share you with us for a day? :D

Okay, now I'm torn. I want to do the ladies ride, but hate to shop, but I would like girl time. But then again I like to do twisties and get a bit aggressive, plus guns and stuff interest me too. What's a girl to do? Plenty of time to figure it out.
Can't wait for the trip. Hubby and I are making a 2 week trip out of it. We are going to make several side trips on the way home to do Deal's Gap, Maggie Valley, etc.

Hi Joyce,

I'd be torn too with all the neat rides going on.

Bet there is a chance that some of the ladies would rather chat than shop. :)

Sounds like Y'all are going to have to hoot on the way home. Going through Deal's Gap and Maggie Valley has some great ridding. :2thumbs:

Yup Joyce, I too am torn. As I posted earlier, I am not a shopper and really do prefer more aggressive riding, but a chance to bond with all the other Spyder women is enticing. I too enjoy guns (as noted in the off topic board as my other hobby) so the Elephant Rock Ride really interests me. I guess I will have to see what my husband is doing and if there are any time conflicts. If Elephant Rock and Ladies Ride overlap, I have a hunch, Elephant Rock will win. I hope I will have gotten to meet and greet many of the ladies by Friday anyway. :2thumbs:

Rides

Just a note to all who are having a difficult time deciding. Thursday will be an open day for people to ride. The ride routes will be included in your check-in packet and on Wed/Thur/Fri/Sat.... there will be the Passport route to be done. So if you are having a hard time deciding..... you might be able to do all of the routes that you like. Lots of twisty fun roads in the Cuba area. Can't wait to meet all of you.:ohyea:

Wife will want to know if there is a quilt shop involved anywhere :hun:

Jamesport is an Amish community about four hours north-north-west from Cuba. They have a shop that sells quilts.

Sherwood Quilts and Craft Shop (Verna & Menno Graber)
1091 U Hwy
684-6802

http://www.jamesport.net/

Maybe you could incorporate Jamesport into your itinerary?
Sister has a true Amish quilt on her wish list.

Keeping us on top

Just a little note to keep the ladies ride up near the top of the forum. One day closer. Would be great if we had weather like yesterday 84 in O'fallon.

I'm in

Scenic rides and some walking about looking at pretty things sounds good to me : )

My hubby Sny will just have to find another ride for this day.

Glad to have you on board Ruth. :2thumbs:

We'll figure something out for Sny.

Of course there will be a lot of ladies with their own Spyders who would probably be more than happy to have a co-rider for the day. If it's pretty weather, it would be a shame to not get out in the fresh air for the ride. Since the van will be available for overflow items, two-up would easily be do-able. Looking forward to meeting a bunch of new friends and catching up with old ones!
