• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest '18

It was started by several companies located there which are in the Spyder sales or after-market business. Might also be one of the biggest by now. I've never been so can't say otherwise.

Spyderfest was started by Rickylen (Len) Damouth in 2010 when he worked for his father at Cowtown in Cuba, MO. I believe that there were about 50 people at the first one and they had a blast in 2011 it was sponsored by the dealership and it grew to something like 450 people. It has grown each year and was moved to Springfield, MO in 2013 when Len opened his own dealership. It is the largest rally in both number of attendees and also in the number of vendors who attend. The riding in the area is great and they do some fun things like the Passport Rides

So from someone who’s has attended 8 of 9 Spyderfest Rallies those are the things that make it the greatest rally.

Registered and soooooo ready.

Had to miss last year.:(..but not this year. This will be my 6th . Ride 2000+ miles to attend. Worth every minute. and mile For me #1 it's the people. just can't find better folks anywhere. Then the rydes are wonderful. Vendor village...I've melted one or two credit cards going there...not complaining, just saying :yikes:...lots of GREAT Spyder "stuff" from many many vendors. Hope to see you there..

Gonna miss this one

Sad to not be able to attend this one. Before date was released I allready booked another trip. Will have to wait for #10.

I haven't seen anything to tell me this is the "greatest rally of the year"????????????

The people, the MOGang volunteers that do all of the hard work, more vendors than any other rally and great riding. If you can’t see that and still don’t get what makes this great then you will stay home and never know what you’re missing.

I guess some people are just a little slow.

Spyder Lady and I will be there

She just got our reservations in and we look forward to checking out the new locations as well as the Lamonster garage down in Nixa. Enjoyed the Wilsons Creek Battlefield site last time but will probably hit that again and a couple of other rides the Branson direction. Still cold here, but suns out so time to be dreamin' and schemin'.

Got on Facebook and really didn't see anything helpful. Checked a couple of local (Missouri) Spyder Ryder websites and can find nothing about Spyderfest. Then again I am not the most "Tech Savy" guy in the house. ;)
It appears that the function will be split into 2 venues, both owned by Pit Bull Powersports. One is in Springfield, the other in Boliver, Mo. According to Mapquest they are 35 miles apart. FYI it looks like the Boliver location is a gravel parking lot.

Went ahead and registered. Got a hotel room at the Best Western Plus Airport (either the Laquinta or the Courtyard Marriott are the host hotel but both are full). Best Western has more rooms available and is reasonable (Travelocity was $85.00 per night).
Hopefully as time goes on there will be more info.
This would be our 1st Spyderfest but definitely not our first motorcycle rally. We have done Sturgis, Thunder On The Beach, Bikes, Blues & BBQ, etc.

Best Western Airport

There are several folks staying at this hotel.
I'm still claiming an(un)-official host hotel.

This will be our 6 one. It is the rides, getting with others that like to ride and to see all the things you can get for Spyder that the vendors install for you.

Still negotiating with the Missus... :lecturef_smilie:
One of the items being discussed: whether to ride the bike out, and stay at a Hotel; or drive out in the RV, and carry the bike. :dontknow:

I hope you two make it to Spyderfest ‘18. Wow 2018

Just completed my resignation :2excited:

There is no quantitative statement from someone here that will validate that point, other than people's opinion, you know what that is worth.

I guess we could go back to last year, and take the opinions of some internationals. A large contingent of Australia's finest. They came to the N. American continent for a month or more, saw the sites, rode everywhere, attended the The Anniversary in Valcourt as well as Spyderfest, maybe another event or two also.

THEY stated that Spyderfest is the world's Spyder Mecca, they said they wanted to go because of the status that this event carries.

It is just an opinion, they are all opinions. I know people that went to SF for years and they claim that Spyderquest is better. Ok, but when I think about those good folks, i also recognize that they are from the Northeast, so proximity plays a role in rating the value of the event, in their opinion.

I have asked for Year for some demographics of the event, I honestly don't think that they record them. How many attended? How many rode in vs. trailering? How many from each state? How many from foreign lands? How much did the average attendee spend in Vendor Village?

Point: Opinions vary, you can accept them or ignore, it is your choice, but opinions do not offer proof of validation! One great reason to go this year is to see that incredible facility that Len built, by the way he is getting a new facility for Springfield as well.

You'll get out what you put in

If you go with the thought process that your going to have a blast, then you will have a blast

If you go with the thought process that this is a chore, you'll probably be quite disappointed.

BTW I'm totally stoked!

Need more info, please

We're thinking about heading to SpyderFest this year. It would be our first. I'm wondering where to find info about the events/rides etc that are planned. The website seems to only have registration info. I'm not on Facebook, so is there anywhere that gives info about the rally so we can decide if we'd like to go? Am I missing something?
Can anyone help? Thanks!

My wife received an email confirmation of registration from a Vanessa at Pit Bull Power Sports. I sent Vanessa an email requesting info on the event or a contact name for somebody to talk to.
I realize it's 4 months away but..........:banghead:
