• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Warranty, what's in the fine print?

We've had our Spyders for just a couple months. We also bought BEST coverage on both, so we're thinking we have 5 years of coverage.

Vaughn's been turning wrenches on motorcycles, etc., for 45 years (and I'll deny I ever said that!)

:helpsmilie:My question is, in the fine print, is there anything that we might do, so far as service, modifications, etc., that might jeopardize or negate the coverage?

Our Spyder adventure is a considerable 'investment' (okay, the only thing that might be left for the kids to inherit is a couple high-mileage Spyder carcasses :roflblack:) and at this point, we certainly don't want to risk any warranty coverage.

We really appreciate all the input and humor :joke:from all you Spyderlovers.

The BRP mods are covered for the original Spyder 2 years warranty IF they are installed by a authorized BRP dealer. :doorag:

You bought the BEST warranty....good move...I would recommend that everyone get it.

I've already had an issue and it was handled very nicely!

As far as voiding your warranty, this is always a hot topic around here.

This is what we all agree on....the dealer/BRP cannot void your warranty unless an installed mod. caused the problem and they can prove it. Now, if you have a tough dealer, you might have an issue if you two disagree. The law is on your side, but there are a lot of variables and you might end up spending money for legal services if the issue is highly contestable. Ask yourself how much of a headache you want if a modification 'might' be responsible for your problem.

I have a bunch of mods as do many here...we kinda take the chance because the excitement of enhancing the ride is worth the risk.

My sentiment is that if you have a cool dealer, and they value your business, then unless there is something very, very obvious, you are likely fine...

What's a mod???? :roflblack:

What's a mod???? :roflblack:

It's a small, fuzzy creature that runs around under the plastic panels and can create havoc. When properly fed/maintained, they can be kind and gentle, and add to the feel, look, and performance of your machine.

Hi VaunghnCat,
My Stealership here said any after market part installed by a authorized BRP dealer will be coverd. However if you went to Cartoys to install a gps for half the money BRP wants, and you had an issue with the electronics on your RT, they may not honor it.
