• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Uni Trailer

trailer 3.jpg trailer.jpg trailer 1.jpg spyder trailer.jpg I transport a Tent Cot, camping gear, cooler, and Helen Twowheel waterproof bags. The trailer runs on the center of the tire that is only about a half inch wide and of the several bikes that have towed this trailer, the mileage hasn't been any different than not towing. It did a four corners trip and has gone to Colorado twice. If necessary, it can be rolled into a motel room or flipped up behind the Spyder to lessen it's overall footprint in a motel parking lot. The red bottle is a cookstove fuel container. Behind a 04 BMW GS, regular trailer lights caused problems so I converted to LED and they worked fine then and with the Spyder. The hookup and (aluminum)trailer are my designs but the wheel assembly was purchased from a uni trailer maker in Mississippi. I can honestly say that you don't know it is behind the bike. As a joke, I even transported golf clubs.

:thumbup::thumbup: Looks like I may have to add a fourth trailer to my Spyder stable. Needless to say, I like it!

What is the empty weight? It looks like it would hardly weigh a thing and will have minimal drag from one narrow tire. Should really help the fuel economy. Very nice job!:clap::clap:

What is the red bottle of Nitrous Oxide hooked to on the trailer ??? :doorag: Is that equivalant to Docs Turbo ??? :roflblack::roflblack: Nice job on the trailer.

Thank you. It weighs under 50 pounds. I'm over 200 pounds and have stood on it even though I wouldn't carry that much weight. The center tread on the tire is about 1/2" wide and the trailer rides on that which produces a small amount of so called rubber against the road drag resulting in virtually no change in fuel mileage. The hitch is basically my design of a universal. The bolts are stainless and where they are pivot points they pass through brass bushings and are very snug to prevent any longitudnal movement. The attaching 3/4" bolt is kept from moving laterally with the help of a spring loaded clip.

How much, and when do you start production?? :2thumbs:

I messed with this for several years making a lot of changes and don't know how much is in it. I have no plans to market anything like this; however, I have built and sold 41 traditional trailers. I will be glad to help anyone as much as I can to construct one of their own.

:thumbup::thumbup: Wow, incredible!! That exactly what I need. Do you have any plans to sell them? If not would you consider selling copies of the plans? Please?!

This was a fun project but I don't have aspirations of profit for another or to sell plans. My reward would be to help another biker have what they wanted. I used 1" X 2" aluminum for the chassis. The hitch was 1/4" X 1 1/2" steel. The length was determined by how much was needed to carry a Tent Cot and various other supplies. The criteria for the width was determined by how far I leaned into turnes on the bike it was being built to tow behind to prevent it from dragging on the road. To build another for use behind my Spyder, it could be built wider because the Spyder stays pretty much level.
