• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Our long journey will be the second time our Spyder has not slept in the Spyder Cave. We are looking for input from others...what do you use besides the steering lock to secure your Spyder next to the motel?

Cover and park it at the motel's front door.

We have just always parked in the parking lot where ever there was an open space. We have never had a problem so far.

Just lock it and cover it. I try to get a room on the 1st floor overlooking the parking lot, but have never had a problem.

I bought a 20 foot locking cable at a motorcycle Rally, use it on all three wheels.

You might try a disk lock, I haven"t, but if you do, I suggest a cord to the handlebar so you do not forget it is there. I use a disk lock on my ST1100 and a cable through two wheels. Cover them and I have never been touched (so far anyway)

Disc lock I looked at would not fit. Inner part of rotor is not open to enable locking. Cable may be best bet.

Pfffft.. barbed wire and grenades. Works every time.

I use a disc lock on the rear disc. It also has a small but loud built in alarm in the disc lock.

The $20 XL motorcycle cover I got at Walmart fits over the trunk all the way back to cover the Givi bags and rear fender. It is not waterproof, but keeps dew and dust off and camoflages the bike enough to keep most folks away. It packs about the size of a loaf of bread. Worked great on our Natchez ride. That with steering lock let me sleep at night. One Hampton Inn actually let me park it under their front check in portico. I guess they thought it was good for business.
