• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. My dealer got five spyders in last week he said that one of them has to be a demo. They all had #s #789#1335#2244#2467#2482. If the first 2500 were pre-ordered premiere edition how do they make one with a # a demo.I would really be mad if I was fifth on the list.I think if they need a demo it should not have a #wildwillie :edit: :spyder:

the demo at my dealer here in Bakersfield is a premiere edition as well. it is in the 700's I suspect that they will be selling it at some time in the future. that will probably be there markup gimmick.

I am beginning to think that brp has lied to us all. i love the spyder and i wouldnt sell it for anything if i couldnt buy another but in my opinion some of us have been lied too.

I AM NOT UNDER STANDING HOW ON EARTH THE ARE PRODUCING THERE # SYSTEM.
TO HAVE SUCH A DRASTIC SPACING IN #S ON ONE TRUCK IS BEYOND ME.

I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY :spyder: & I MUST SAY GETTING MORE NERVUS AS TIME & #S
KEPT GOING UP.
NOW I JUST DONT GET IT. FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING LATELY EVERY ONE FEELS THE SAME.

SPYMAN

This dealer is located in Belleville, MI. Is there anyone else besides me and Wildwillie on this forum that are waiting for Spyders from this dealership? I was there yesterday, two were sitting inside the showroom and three were outside. They only had two tagged as sold!!!??? I was told not to expect mine before May!! Something just doesn't seem right about this.

I am from Michigan but my dealer is in Mt Morris, just north of Flint. I heard from another local Spyder owner that they got a few in last Saturday, but I haven't heard anything yet. I am still waiting, so I just sent them an email to see if they have any more details on more deliveries. Also, I wouldn't be too concerned with the numbers yet as I am hearing about delivery number in the 2400's and also in the 1300's and there are many number series still unaccounted for completely. For instance, I have not seen one person on either forum that I visit post a number in the 900's yet. So they are delivering all over the board. Also, I understand they had gone over the 2500 slightly as they took "premier edition" orders right up to Sept. 15th and more than 2500 were ordered by that date. I am not sure how many over that number but I know of one that is 26something. Also, all the demo units are "premier edition" we're told, so to get out 2500 to the owners, they had to produce more than that. That's all I have for now.

Hi All

FYI I sat on Premier Edition #900 today in a BRP dealer, Gold Coast Australia. I paid my deposit back in September and hope to get mine this week. I did not think the European spec Spyders we were getting in Australia were numbered but going by his one (it was pre ordered by a customer) they will be. :spyder: Will advise whether mine is numbered ASAP.

Martin,
Is it just numbered or does it actually say "premier edition" on the handlebars. It is my understanding that European and Australian Spyders will be numbers as they too have VIN numbers and they will get their numbers on the handlebars but they will not be considered the "premier edition" that was supposed to be released in North America. If you do get Premier Edition, congratulations but I know some folks here that will be upset, right or wrong. Or maybe the dealer in Australia ordered a "premier edition" Spyder from the North American allotment, now that is an idea. I have been wondering where all the 900 series Spyders are. Maybe we now know. Time will tell.

I was so tired of all the speculation I figured I would just email BRP myself and see if they would answer me regarding "Premier Edition" Spyders and the numbers and if they are just North American or what. Here is a copy of my email and a copy of their answer back to me. I hope this settles the issue.

Hi there,
I don't know if you can or will answer this question. I belong to
the Can-AM talk forum and there is a lot of speculation and stress
over the "Premier Edition" Spyders. It seems there were more than
2500 produced and some people are getting numbers in the 2600's.
Also, there are people in Europe and Australia saying they are
getting "Premier Edition" Spyders delivered. It was our
understanding that the first 2500 or so were for North American
delivery. So, if you could clear this up, I would be happy to post
the answer on the forum and maybe solve this dilemma once and for
all. Thank you for your help.

Greeting Mrs Tangen,

Thank you for your interest in BRP and in the Can-Am Spyder roadster.

The answer is already post on the Can-Am talk forum but here it is;

The "2.5K first owners" is a North American promotion/program. These were the first 2,500 owners in North America who actually pre-purchased a Spyder between Feb 9/07 and Sep 15/07 and were also entitled to a free jacket. The actual number of pre-owners is slightly higher than this - as some people noted by actually counting the names on the map!

The premiere edition vehicles produced for North America exceed 2,500. Here's why:

* Dealer demo units. These were key in order to get dealers their display and demo units ASAP.
* Demo tour units. For the new 2008 Demo Tour program which has just begun traveling across North America, we decided to provide brand new, production units. The prototypes from the 2007 tours had tons of mileage and we couldn't wait to showcase the new production units.

Therefore, some of these first owners will receive units with serial numbers higher than 2500 in North America. However, they remain in the "exclusive" club of the first 2,500 (and slightly over) original owners in North America. On a marketing perspective, it was much more appropriate to round out at 2.5K.

Hope this is clearer for your now.

Best regards,

Spyder Team

Hi
No , I am pretty sure the yellow one I sat on said "Premier Edition No 900" on the handlebars just as I have seen many times in photos on this forum. I am getting old now so my memory is not what it used to be (58 next week) :joke:

I am supposed to get mine in 3 days so I will check and advise then (with a photo) as this may have been a "one of". I placed my deposit back in September so I have been waiting too. (and I am paying $26,000aus - with the Ozzie dollar around 94 cents US it means we are paying a premium price compared to the US - app $20,000 US :( )
