• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is my first post. Just purchased a 2011 RT Roadster with radio and convienience package. The seat has no backrest or hole for one. Someone is selling a 2014 seat with everything on it. Will it fit my 2011? Photo is of my 2011 seat.

Yes - 2010 through 2018 ( most likely 2019 also) will interchange with each other. I had used a 2010 seat that I had sent to Russell Day Long on our 2014 RT.

The company Utopia USA makes a file for your 2011, they even show on their website how to install it, you do not have to change all your seat.

I have an (almost) brand new seat from a '17 RTL that has the backrest port that I will sell for a reasonable low price.
And I will deliver it to you if your location shown in your profile is right.
It does NOT have the backrest with it.

I Have a Russell Day Long that for an RT, that I will be selling. I am switching over to an F-3. I have the backrest, the seat is heated. I will have to be rebuilt and recovered, I am only 5'3" and I have it covered to reflect my military career. I paid well over $1800.00 for this seat, and will buy another for my new F-3.

Here is Russel Day Long website that has prices. I will accept any reasonable offer.

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new :ani29:

Linda has exactly that model. Utopia was an answer for a backrest...but you had to cut a hole in the seat. I believe the 2014's started coming with a backrest hole with insert plug. I put a Utopia on that one but have since replaced the seat with a BRP Comfort one. That one offered enough support for me that a back rest was no longer needed.

:agree: Unless you are getting the seat / backrest at a very good price, or you don't care how much you spend, you're better off going with a Utopia backrest. You will have to cut a small hole in your seat but it's no big deal and their instructions are very good. So is their backrest; I have one on each of my RTs.

The other thing I like about Utopia backrests is they can't easily be removed by a thief, which is not the case with Can-Am backrests I believe.

I understand the 2014 and newer seats are slightly different from the 2013 and older ones. Can't swear to it, but Utopia does sell a different mounting kit for the 2014 and newer vs older seats. http://www.utpr.com/spyderrt.html

Was that hole and plug the only difference with 2014 and newer? I may be wrong, but there may be other differences as well because Utopia sells a different mounting system for 2013 and earlier.

The newer ( 14+ ) seat pans ( this is what the foam and vinyl attach to ) Have four nuts/ferrules embedded in the pan - this is for the newer style bracket to attach to...………….Mike
