• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RT s dying at stops

Spyder Couple

On sunday wife and I were out riding and the bike died. We pulled into gas station and pulled up to the pump and bike died before we could hit the kill switch. Later that day it died at the light twice.

died again today at light.

Any idea what is causing it? :helpsmilie:

We have had the bike a week on saturday and it has just over 400 miles.

If it's an SE, it could have a clutch issue similar to what some early 2010s had. You can't chase this problem here, it needs to visit your dealer.

There are so many possibles that might cause that problem, everybody here would have a diff. opinion...:chat:...
Your best bet is take it to Dealer and get it checked out...

Same problem here. 2010 RT manual. been in shop 3 weeks now. For 600 mile service, squealing brakes, and bad rear shock. Dealer said no problem found on the dieing problem, no codes. But it has died at 1 stop light cuttout twice on the interstate. and died on the way to the dealer (going about 30mph when that happened). Should get it back this week.

My:spyder2: goes in the shop tomorrow to replace the glove box latch, I am going to mention that mine at times dies at stops also and see what they say.

Be Safe

Thank you everyone for helping.

Put another 50 miles on the bike today and had no problem. Maybe it worked it self out. We have told the dealership about the problem. :dontknow:

Now if we can get the headsets to stop cutting out my wife would be a
very happy lady.

Sorry to hear this, Dar. Let us know what the dealer says is the problem. This is very aggravating for you.

It's our $4#%#$ gas up here. I only use Chevron or Shell premium, and add 1/2 oz Star*Tron to every tank. I've had no problems since I started this regimen.

You will also see a few bugs rise and depart, as you add miles to the RT, until you have a couple of thousand miles on the bike. Also, when you do, or have done, the 600 mile service, be sure to change the trans filter - I actually had a few bits that looked like gasket shavings in mine.

to get headsset to not cut out (assuming CanAm system). Set the VOX all the way down then click up only ONCE on the VOX. that will have the system on all the time.

if the CB is cutting in (it over rides the intercom). turn up the SQUELCH on the CB all the way to the top (assume you are not using the CB).
