• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RT Limited Side Mirror

Anyone know of a video or written instructions on how to disassemble the mirrors on the RT? I wanted to replace the mirrors with the muth mirrors with the arrow in them.

More info.

My MUTH mirror video does not show how to take them apart. Here is a post with more info on that process.

Also in this video where I did the behind the mirror lights you can see them apart but I did not actually show the process but maybe you can get the idea from seeing them apart.

In the end the mirrors just snap apart. Be careful not to break the tangs inside!

when you heat up the original mirror with a heat gun or hair dryer, under the mirror is a screw ans a spring that you remove to take the mirror apart to cut the holes you need to cut

So I am assuming that I remove the mirror prior to trying to take the housing apart? The instructions that came with the Muth Mirrors (pitiful at best for this part) just states on step 1 to "carefully remove back cover of mirror housing by releasing the engagement tabs". Trouble is, I can't see any engagement tabs to release. I will try to remove the mirror first and get to the screw and spring so I can take the plate out to cut the hole and run the wire. I plan to connect it on the mirror side of the harness so the mirror can still be removed by just taking the existing plug apart. This brings up another interesting issue, what if you ever have to change the bulb in the turn signal on the back side of the mirror????? I can't find anything in the maintenance manual on changing this light.......bangheadonwall:bangheadonwall:bangheadonwall:

Thanks,
Steve
