Buyer beware???? I see that is the dark edition. my RT limited has "limited" on the side cases. do they just not mark the "dark edition? so this a regular RT? maybe someone else can chime in. so many models have came out since 2008, 1st service for the 1330 cc is 3,600 miles not 600 miles for 998. some dealers get confused with this, but its been since 2014 of the 1330 cc's to get it right. then service intervals of 9,300 miles.
whats nice is no more valve checks like on the 998. 1330 had automatic hydraulic valves.
Jeez Falcon, I'd LOVE to ryde it home for you, just so long as you cover my costs getting there & back?! :2thumbs: But I guess it's probably gonna be a WHOLE lot cheaper for you to pay the Dealer - anyone know what a return flight from South Aus to Las Vagas is atm?? :dontknow: It's a shame, being so far away.....pps:
But it looks like you got a pretty good deal! Enjoy!
Contact Joe and Ann Meyer SL usernames CptJAM or SpyderAnn01 at Squared Away, I would bet they could help you get it home or connect you with an experienced Spyder rider who could for less than that $200 dealer charge.

Anyhow, I digress...… :banghead:
Also, how much of a transition to riding a Spyder can I expect to encounter before being "safe" doing it?

My answer to the resale value issue is to "Love The One You're With". Since '14 the RTs have stayed basically the same(with the exception of the introduction of the digital dash in 2018). There have been"cosmetic" changes; but nothing worth getting rid of my low mileage 2015 RT Limited over. Besides, I've got a few farkles on it that I don't want to "give away". My BEST extended warranty will expire in a year, so I'm crossing my fingers that my so far trouble free Spyder stays that way. I've looked into extending my warranty; but have had zero luck in finding a company that will provide me one.( Has anybody had any success with this endeavor????)Which plays havoc with resale value, but oh well....
Joe and Ann also do oil changes and sway bar and other accessory installs. The alignment is a must. When do you need this ridden to your home? PM me.
LMAO! I'm paying cash. I'll be looking for an "extended service contract" which will provide additional income/profit for the dealer IF I purchase my Spyder from them (I quit doing my own oil changes years ago). I will pay the dealer to install additional "farkles"/addons I buy for my Spyder, like the Baha Ron Sway Bar and Tri Axis Handlebars among other things. I'm lazy, but can afford it. My Spyder will be set up with the same intentions I set up my NT when I bought it...a long distance touring ride for 2 week and longer rides. It isn't going to be a commuter ride for me...I have a car for that. I've already priced the cost of a Russell Day Long for it. The one I put on my NT cost over $1K. Don't ask what the one I want for my Spyder costs. And I'll still pay the extra $80 for the same day ride in service like I did for my NT if Russell can do that for the seat I want.
I have negotiating power. I've played the game before. Some dealers have learned that the hard way when I did walk in the past (like the first one I went to when looking for my NT in 2010). I'm willing to go out of state to purchase if I can't find a local dealer who won't try to jerk me around. Then if I have to, I'll just find another local Spyder owner I can trust who may want to earn some extra cash doing my maintenance for me. I'm not against a dealer (or any business) making a fair profit for themselves. Just don't try to BS me while doing it. I wasn't able to go fully retired at 54-years old by throwing unnecessary money out the window.
OUR Spyder is definitely a WE thing. Pretty Wife even chipped in some of her own money. She sez she bought the passenger seat! We have ridden two wheels together two up for 200,000 miles and we intend to stay in the wind.Rick....dont worry you will love it we do, notice I keep saying we she wont let me leave home without her
