Spyder RT Complete Frame replacement - It's alive!
Hello guys,
I'm new here and just wanted to share with you what I have been up to recently. My dad bought a Can Am Spyder RT '12 around 2 months ago with a bad/twisted frame. I was shipped from the US to Iceland.
He bought it with the intention of me ripping it apart and fixing what had to be fixed. We also had the bike inspected by a bodyshop to see what was damaged. Here is a list of what we have bought:
-New frame
-Both saddle bags
-Front cargo unit (whole assembly)
-Both taillights
-Both front shocks
-Rear fender
-Front air ducts
-New battery
-Had most of the body parts painted (same color)
-Also bought a set of foglights, which wasn't on this perticular bike
Also had all the silver painted things (steering wheel, foot pegs, rims, exhaust shields, etc.) on the bike powdercoated in a darker grey color. We have also bought the clips and screws and those kinds of small things that were missing.
Here are a few pictures of the process: (sadly I don't know why but I don't have a picture of the bike before disassembly). This is all done with just basic garage tools.
Hope you like pictures

This is the status of the bike as of last night. I will continue this week and hopefully have it finished soon!
Hope you guys like it!
