• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RT accessories

Has anyone noticed the cost of after market accessories is very high? Yes, I'm sure you have. So I like the plug and play mods you can get from some of the shops like the rear saddle bag lights / turn signals. I ordered the spyderpops vision kit which came with the mirror turn signal LED strip (cheesy) and the fender kit (installed) and the saddle bag reflector light / signal (not installed). I also bought the slingmod rear running\brake turn signal strip light kit (installed even though a bit cheesy) I wanted to wire the saddle bag lights from spyderpops to the slingmod plug and play kit rather that run the wire extension for the spyderpops kit all the way from the back light to the front light. Also slingmods seems to have two different kits for the back lighting. There's the run/brake/turn LED strip kit all plug and play then there's the partial plug and play saddlebag kit with the same wire harness just set up a bit different. Now if you wanted both the light strip and the saddle bag lights it will cost you on sale $119 + $69, but the saddle bag light is not a turn signal and you will have to splice in the light or use both provided harnesses???

(For each company) Same company why cant they make their accessories work together with the ability for customer mix and match without buying several different kits to get what they want.

One other observation.
This is less that $20 bucks on Amazon and many other sizes/shapes and types for so much less than spyder accessories.

https://www.amazon.com/TMH-Surface-...=1624907452&sprefix=led+turn+,aps,696&sr=8-56

Why does it cost 3 to 5 times as much for a less functional light set from any of the spyder accessories shops? (yes the plug and play will be more do to the harness), but some of the kits are just lights and wires for much much more.

Sorry for the rant, just don't under stand the cost of some of the spyder MODS (mostly lights/LED strip kits) compared to just standard turn signal lights (that fit the same) you can get at auto zone or amazon.

First thing to remember is anyone custom making something for the Spyder world is not dealing with the mass market numbers in the millions.

Second thing is that it's not designed for a universal fit, sometimes very specific to a model within a model lineup and then year.

And when you get to lighting, there's that good ole Canbus thing you have to play nice with.

Then everything must be sourced, prewired, tested, packaged, etc. and in the end there must be a profit.

All the above and I'll add..................if I think something is totally out of line or if I think I can carry the idea a step better or in a different direction if needed, I am glad to go out on my on and create it for myself. Knowing that it may take several tries to get the result I want, sometimes totaling more than what I could have purchased it for.

New to the Forum, and thought I would share this. Got the Show Chrome Fuse Block from Slingmods (best price) and then bought an assortment of less expensive led lights.
Not hard to install. Unit is Plug-n-Play to the bike, but need to do some wiring of your own to the LED's. Total price for me was about $160. About 3 hours total for install. If you
are already familiar Spyders probably less. Here is some pics of the install underneath the left headlight. Used a piece of old inner tube as a weather protector.
