• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RT a "Toy" ?

If a tree falls in the forest...

It's a Potato-Potaato argument.

I've run my 2008 RS from East Tennessee to San Diego, CA twice and hope to do it again this April. If I didn't feel good about going long distance I'd fix it or get rid of it. Is it possible I'll break down? Sure. But I'm 2 for 2 so far... :ohyea:

Snow shoveling? Mid-80s in Phoenix. Of course, when you have pleasant summer temps, it will be about 147 degrees here.......
I was gonna say that I hated you ... but the second-half of your statement made me feel less like saying that! :D

Come visit us when your neighbors start bursting into flame around you! :yikes:

Yes, it is (was) a toy - Like my airplane, I would never use it for primary transportation - especially if I need to be somewhere. I know this is not the case for others, but it is for me....

mine is a cure..!!

It makes me happy when I'm sad
It calms me down whenI'm worried
It clears my mind when it's cluttered
It soothes my anger when I'm riled
It's my best friend when I'm alone

And when with my wife it makes me lover her even more

So not a toy nor a tourer or even a tool to me...:ohyea:

Nicely stated and I couldn't agree more:yes::clap::clap:

Neither

According to AAA it is a recreational vehicle:D

The first time they told me that I was on the side of the road with my non-running K1200 BMW asking for help with my gold card only to be told that I had to have the +RV to be covered:banghead:
I said "WHAT THE HELL" I don't have a motor home, but the more I think about it it does say what I use it for - a vehicle that provides me with recreation as well as everything that others posted:yes::yes:

toys?
people who the motorcycle virus in the blood ... keep driving.
For me it is the best purchase after several motorcycles have worn.
how to open the eyes, and let the wind blow through your hair

I personally like toys. I am certainly not offended by the term. remember, you are only as old as you act. If you still play with toys, you will still be a young boy or girl at heart. JMHO

I too am a fan of toys and have a garage full of them, but like I said.

"Owning another toy never crossed my mind. Owning a quality touring motorcycle was my primary focus."

Whether we call it a toy or a quality tourer. Hopefully most of us have the same expectations when we set out on it.

I love toys, Just ask Jerbear about whats in my garage. I p/u the new spyder on the 7th of this month. It handles like none of my other bikes but that is not a bad thing since it is set up differant. My g/f is loven it over our new Honda trike. I am having a blast getting use to it. Another toy for us......................... DAMM RIGHT

hi Jerry

I've considered all my motorcycles over the years to be toys...including when I used them for primary transportation. I consider my guitars and racing gear toys, too, even though I use the racing stuff in professional racing.

Big boy's toys.

A toy is defined as something a child plays with. Typically a model or miniature replica of something. Think Big Wheel.

A Spyder RT is supposed to be a high end touring motorcycle. One that should confidently and comfortably allow you to enjoy traveling great distances. Without having to worry whether it will get you there and back.

Toy or tourer?
The answer may come down to how one intends to use their RT.

Owning another toy never crossed my mind. Owning a quality touring motorcycle was my primary focus.

To date. It has not let me down.

Tho, I do not travel with the degree of confidence I had hoped for when making the investment.

Mine is a toy. Cause I always wanna play with it.

Just sayin'...........
