• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RS with the Touring Package

Just buy the RT. It will cost many folks to much money to get the RS to have an RT ryde. Buying the RT will save a lot of hours modifying and testing to get the items best suited for your needs.

As an original Spyder owner I have a GS because that was all that was available at the time. By the time the RT came out I had already spent about $5K - $7K in extras to make it the touring machine it is now... for that money I could have bought a RT.

On the other hand, I prefer the sportiness of my GS... something the RT seems to lack IMO. If I had to do it again and the RT was available... I'd still get the GS (RS).

Either way, you'll love it.

Happy Spydering!!!

For the pep, splash and dash, I went with the RS andhave never regretted it. I've ridden an RT some, but really, really like the feel of the RS much, much better. I installed Kewlmetal adjustable risers, seal floorboards and I,'mpretty much sitting upright. Added my "little spyder web" rear rack and side tank and saddlebags from Roadgear and I can haul a tone of stuff in complete and controllable comfort.
Each to their own, thus the choices in the marketplace. But for me it's RS all the way.

Thank you Everyone for all the input. I have a tough decsion ahead of me but either way I go it will be the right one becasue I will own a Spyder.

Trying to get some opionons on this. I love the looks of the RS but the RT seems to be more relaxed and comfortable. What I am wanting to know if there is anyone out here has an RS with the Touring package and if the comfort seat and handlebar risers make it more comfortable. Please Advise.:chat:

I have no problem with the comfort seat or the handlebar risers, in fact my set up is quite comfortable. The biggest problem for me has been a tall enough windshield. I am currently having success with the Robo-brackets however the windshield I'm using is a dark smoke and is a distraction because of where it has to sit in front of me. I will have to get a clear windshield but once I do my problem will be solved completely.

However, you will never be able to make an RS a substitute for an RT and vice versa IMO. The RT is more comfortable and always will be. The RS has more get up and go and always will. I suppose it comes down to what's more important to you.

Good luck.

Geoff.
