• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Spyder RS Battery replacement w/ R-35 Saddlebags

I bought this great used 2010 RS SE5 earlier this year. The Spyder has the Givi R-35 saddlebags and mounts. From what I can see I will need to remove the bag mount on the left side to replace the battery. Correct? If so, what kind of tool is necessary to remove those tri-shaped bolts? I've never seen bolt heads quite like that before. If the tool is required, does anyone know where to get one?

Did your Spyder have the tool kit in the front trunk that came with it? If so, it will have what you need.

It require a star drive head but I don't remember what size. I had an 09 RS and the battery was on the left side, under passenger seat. You'll have a few pieces to remove to get to it.

I misread....you need a tool for the Givi mount...not the panels.

Thanks

The toolkit I received with the Spyder was limited at best. As I mentioned I've never seen a tri-angled head like that on the Givi mounts before. Now knowing it's a Givi tool I can go find one before my battery gives it up. Thanks to all for responding and pointing me in the right direction.

Saddl bag mount removal

You can also take an old 3/8 ths drive extension ( i used a 3 inch length one) and grind off the square end into a triangle shape. Works well
