• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder rolled into car

I rode to my Scout meeting this evening. Parking brake was engaged. But bike rolled into the rear of another parked car! And this the result. Later found out someone was messing or on my Spyder. No one came forward. So this is what I'm left with. Another nick off the right as well! Any fixing this?

Cameras?

Any security /surveillance cameras?
I would also Che k the adjustment on the parking brake.
I for one would have called the Police.. That sucks.

Its a SM-5, did you also leave it in gear? If you did, then someone definitely screwed with your ryde! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.:gaah:

PAINT

Until you want it to be perfect.....I would just Bondo it then spray it with VHT Burnt copper md # SP-402.....if you buff the paint out with OOO steel wool it will take just enough sheen off the make it flat like the OEM.............My 11 RSS was the same color.......Sorry this happened to you....Mike

Hmmmm

No cameras. Will check cable. Just got disgusted and rode home.
If it was or wasn't in gear, and the emergency brake was completely engaged. .I suspect that might be the issue. But, if someone got on and messed with it..I would be a tad bit irate..
Just glad it wasn't more damage.
Easy way to check the brake is to have the Spyder in neutral. .fully engage the brake..and then try to roll the spyder.
Was it parked on an incline? And who brought it to your attention that someone was mucking with it?

Sorry to hear of the incident.

Blanketey blanketey parking brake. Never used it on my SM-5--always left it in gear.

Always got into habit of giving the bike the shake and roll test with the SE-5.

One overstep on the brake pedal and the adjustment on the cable became toast. Got to where I could fix it in a minute or two.

If someone was mucking with the bike, you probably are going to have a time getting someone to come forward or admit to being that stupid.

Hope you get things fixed okay.

Bummer. I'd recommend also locking the handlebars all the way right or left. This will keep it from rolling very far.

It was parked on a slight incline. I usually lock the handlebar but didn't this time. One of the Leaders brought to my attention. When I walked up I noticed the angle wasn't the angle of impact, like someone tried to move it. I'm just glad It wasn't more damaged. Lesson learned to make sure the handlebar is locked, how it's parked and start using the half cover, which has been on my mind a lot. So I'll just fix or replace the bumper cover.

The RT parking brake can't be disengaged without having the key in the ignition and turning the ignition on.
I'd check to see if the cable stretched. Years ago, when the first RTs came out, there was a problem with the cable coming off the pulley disengaging the parking brake.

Sorry to hear about this. You might try and talk to some Gold wingers about "plast-Aid" or check on line. It is supposed to be formable and dry harder enough to drill from what winger have told me. Might work better then Bondo.
Good luck
