• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I used to work perimeter security at a large Govt facility. Folks would drive up to the entry gate, doing make-up, reading books, eating breakfast cereal in a bowl with milk. Just &@$#% amazing! Distracted driving should be cause for suspension of your drivers license for a period of time. A second offense it should be grounds for lose of you license for ever. Too many folks are being injured and killed with Really little done to the perpetrator.

I had not thought about it for a while, but I was rear ended. I was luckier then most though. I was operating a fully loaded school bus. I made a student pick up stop, yellow lights, then the red ones and opened the door. The student was next to me when the guy hit the bus. Moved the bus a foot and a half from the dead stop. Nobody on bus hurt. Car driver said, he wasn't but car a total loss. All of the hood was under the bus. LEO (Law Enforcement Offical) got there and asked the guy if I had my red student lights on ? He answered yes. LEO said, it does not matter, but were his brake lights on. (We were taught to keep our foot on the brakes for extra light in back. I was not pressing hard). the guy answered, yes. He had two
big brake lights and two small ones.
After the guy left, LEO said, your student lights should have told him something, but in all cases, if the guy in front of you has brake lights on. It might be a good idea for you to put your brakes on. His speed was estimated at the speed limit, 50 MPH.
End result for me, manditory drug test, scratched rear bumber (spray painted over) and tons of paperwork. Estimated bus weight at time of crash was 17,000 lbs.
I will add another set of prayers for this couple.

I second the motion. It's scarry to look at people driving by these days. Mostly every vehicle is occupied by a moron who is on the phone or doing one or more of the above. Add drinking, drug use, and you have a real recipe for disaster. A couple weeks ago, akspyderlady was almost run into by an idiot who was texting.

Has anyone heard how the Tallmans are doing? Several of our GOS members were asking and I had not heard any update. :pray:

Sorry to hear the misfortune. Almost had the same experience on Missouri 65 in Springfield, Mo. Thanks to the Good Lord I Had an escape route to the shoulder. God Bless and our prayers go out to you ..:pray::pray::pray::pray:

I suggest to everyone to increase your tail and brake light visibility with something like the Custom Dynamics Triple Play. It also add the strobe feature. Do whatever you can to try to get people to see you and avoid tragedies such as this.

About the only thing a cager jsut MIGHT see is a HUGE STOP SIGN ATTACHED TO THE REAR OF YOUR SPYDER!!!! This time of year MSHP is busy with all kinds of accidents and there's been 2 more ( on a Wing) killed by a 77 yo didn't see em coming they slamed into the side of the SUV. pronounced at the scene. And of course the 16 yo that did one of THOSE things kids sometimes do. think the guy will be ok. Way back when internet started they said it would SAVE ON PAPERWORK!!!! THEY LIED!!!
 
Another young (19) GI killed in Fayetteville NC this weekend. 17 year old in Toyota pickup turned left in front of him.
 
Bump

People don't pay attention while operating the 4 wheeled vehicles, I was at a signal light stopped and a car crept up on my rear end until they finally made contact with my fender and nugged me forward. no damage was done but I was totally pissed becaused we were sitting there for a while before she bump me, maybe she was just nosey.
