• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i have been reading about spyders on this fourm and read where people are having problems with them. my friends i ride with have a 2014 rt and a 2011 rt and they are happy with them. are this just the 2015 and 2016 spyder rt that they are having trouble with? just wondering.

Trouble can happen with ANY machine; built by ANY manufacturer. nojoke
The DESS issue is the latest, and seems to be affecting the 2014 and later model years.
BRP had "improved" the security of the Anti-Theft system, and there were unforeseen complications.
They're working on this, and should get it worked out soon... (I hope!)
For the record: my 2014 RT was not affected.

I purchased a 2015RT Limited a year ago, after the first oil change, the only time I have seen my dealer is to say hi. No problems and it was my 3ed Spyder live the ride.

Most forums are 90% problem posts and 10% other.

About 1/4 of the :spyder2: riders are represented here. 25,000 out of over 100,000 sold. Seems most are enjoying their :ani29::spyder2: rather than here.

On 3rd Spyder

Why 3 you ask? 2010 RT...knew nothing about Spyder literally bought sight unseen (other than on internet) and had delivered to my door. 2014 RTS...after 72k miles on '10 BRP came out with the 1330 engine...wow huge improvement traded in '10 to Pitbull Powersports in Springfield, MO. 38k miles on this fine machine and along came the 2016 F3t limited...oh my now this is one sweeeeeet ryde and it takes a trailer hitch. Purchased end of April..5500 miles. No issues. Now do you want to hear about my 622 trailer I purchased to have a matched set with my 2014....lets suffice to say it was a problem "child"...but the awesome news is that BRP got it fixed and now I've had over 20k trouble free miles (the problem? wacked out frame and it would literally eat tires after about 300-500 miles)...but the important thing is Pitbull and BRP got it fixed. Yep do luv my rydes..

Had an issue with both front tires on my '14 RTL when brand new. Had to have the water pump replaced because of leaking this Spring. Otherwise, 12,000 miles of fun riding.

bought my 2012 rts used last fall from a Harley dealer in Morgantown wv. no problems so far with it except for intense heat thru the seat. brp just today refused to help me out with it. lets just say I won't be buying another brp product. I won't tolerate idiot csr's.

Is there a check list that new buyer can take to the dealer to see that everything was or at least ask if it was done before taking own ship of the bike. If the dealer know that you are aware of issue with a certain model maybe they can double check your bike before handing you the keys. The reason I ask this because I want to get an F3 but I want to be able to check everything I can check to minimize issue. I know dealer as soon as you give that money they tend to turn Ahole if there is any problems with the bike. Maybe someone can develop or list by model to check and new buyer can use that as a guide lines.

I'm Happy!!!

Had a few problems here and there, got 'em fixed. Normal maintenance, I think. I love riding my :spyder:.

I've gone from Ann Arbor, MI to Nova Scotia and points in between. Mostly trouble free. I over paid, but that's on me. Not as easy to work on as my honda was. No biggie - I don't think my neighbors were that impressed by a 62 year old women rolling around on the street under her motor bike (no garage).

By getting a used Spyder, all of the recalls were done. I'm lucky, there are 2 dealerships near me - one about 15 miles, another 40 miles. I never would have bought a radio for my ryde, but I really like the one I have.

The only issue I have had with BRP is every month they want another payment! Can I find about 40 people out there who will make just one payment for me? 😝 :roflblack: :hun:

Very pleased with my 2015 RT

I've had my 2015 RT for exactly a year (June 3, 2015) and have ridden close to 21,000 miles with no major problems (I had a minor issue with the glove box latch, which the dealer took care of). The only thing I've done is add farkles, oil changes, and airing up the tires.

Like others have stated, you tend to hear more from the people with problems than from the happy owners who are busy riding their Spyders.

I have bought my 2015 RTL this past November and have only 1900 miles on it and no problems. I asked my dealer and he said he checked any mine was good to go.:riding:
