• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Patch?

New member
When my wife registered our bike (it's in her name for tax reasons) she got a patch that says " Can-Am Spyder Ryder" and only got the one patch.

It is my understanding that it came from this forum. Is there anyway we can get more of these?

The patch you are talking about did not come from this forum. It comes from BRP after you register with them, she should have also received a pin and some cards to give out also perhaps a photo of the Spyder. It's part of the welcome package that BRP sends out.

There is a nice forum outlet for :spyder2: related patches.

Check out Cat Specialties--I believe there is a sale going currently.

More colorful and more variety than came in the welcome package.

yes I know it's a welcome patch from BRP but the package also lists here, so I thought maybe I could get one from me also

Got a good copy machine? :roflblack::roflblack:

Just kidding of course. Maybe someone on the site has an extra they would share with you. You could also try writing BRP and ask if they would send you another patch. It would be interesting to see what their response is.

I have had issues with them over mileage pins--and have ranted a couple of times--but maybe they have changed and are more customer friendly.

How do you register with BRP? I noticed that their website said you should receive a 9 digit number in a couple of months, and thought that you did not have to do anything until you got that. Hope my dealer registered me with them, as I did not know that I had to. Do I ?????

Thanks,
Dale

Registering with the 9 digit number

When you purchase a spyder you get a box from BRP with the patch, Spyder Ryder pin, picture and cards to hand out there is also a 9 digit number listed on the letter that you use to register.

Spyder Patch/Registeration Package

I bought my :spyder2:2009 GS SE5 in July of 2010 from a dealer who has since lost his franchise. :( When I got to the new dealer in my area I found out that my machine was still on BRP books as being with the defunct dealer.:hun: I had to fax my bill of sale to BRP in order to get the various recalls taken care of. My new dealer was able to get the work done when BRP finally understood that I was the owner. I waited three months for my welcome package.:dontknow: When it didn't arrive, I called BRP and told them my story and gave them the information they requested. The rep I spoke to told me he was ordering my welcome package then, and it would be on its way. That was two months ago, still nothing.:gaah: How much longer do I have to wait?

Spyder Rider Patch/Welcome Package

It would appear that BRP only ships welcome packages about 4 times a year, I spoke to them in mid July, my package arrived yesterday 8 or 9 weeks after the rep said he was ordering it. Considering I bought my :f_spider: in July of 2010, that's not too bad :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.
