• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SPYDER LICENSING

Hey folks, is this progress or what??

Greg the owner of Orange Osceola Safety Institute is very excited about his new class. To my knowledge, it is the first of it's kind in the U.S. Central Florida Powersports and BRP have donated 4 Spyder RS SE5 bikes for him to train students on. The student will graduate with the MSF 3-Wheel Basic Rider certification that will allow them to have to the Florida 3-wheel motorcycle endorsement (Trike, Spyder, and side-car) on their license.
The first class is March 10 and 11th and he currently only has 2 students registered. Their contact info: 407-566-8713 www.oosi.org

Please get this word out to anyone you know that might want to take the class. It would be good for the Spyder community if this were to
succeed..

Hmmm...Maybe this would explain why the 2011 RT I bought (quoted to me as Brand New with "0" miles on it) turned out to have 123 miles on the odo when I arrived to buy it. Well, I thought the price was still good, so we bought it anyway, even after the Salesman told us in person when we arrived at Central Florida Powersports that it had "0" miles on it. No explanation even offered after it was delivered to my driveway (for a $200 charge) on a trailer, with 134 miles showing on th odometer. Needless to say, that kind of treatment is not what I expect or want from any Dealer!
BTW: The next day I discovered that the Tool Kit was missing and it took more then one tel-con trying to solve that. Finally talked to the Gen'l Mgr and got some satisfaction.

Just be glad you didn't buy it in Ocala; the one they sold me as new had 250 miles on it and ran about 10 miles before the transmission exploded in a fog of oil. They wanted to fix it, but ended up giving me a new spyder.

They have been holding trike classes at the end of my street for 3 years, since 2009. West coast power sports was posting their class dates up when I got my first Spyder. The place is part of Fletcher's Harley dealership.

!

My wife and another wife of a Spyder owner were the only two at the first class for them. It was very thorough, 5 hours in the class room, the 3 hours on the bikes the first day was not bad. The next morning they had their written tests, both passed! Yea! Then the fun began in the rain all day. Six hours on the course, two trainers set up cones in multiple layouts. Then the road test, did I mention in the "rain"? But all in all it was a good day, we met some great people!
