• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyder In the Rain.

Rode the spyder home from work last Friday in the rain. First time I've had the spyder in the rain. What a blast. In town I hit the throttle hard a few times and was in fishtail heaven. Tested the braking, excellent. Cornering was good, kept the speed around 55 - 60mph and felt no signs of hydroplaning. I felt much more at ease on three wheels. I never had that sense of fun and security on my Harley riding in the rain. I'm already getting to the point that I may never ride on two wheels again. Anybody out there like to buy a nice Sportster?

:spyder:does hold up well in the rain :ani29:
Fishtail Heaven is great but will never give up my H-D.
Just make time for both :2thumbs:

welcome My wife is from Kzoo. I am trying to figure out if I can take the Spyder to South Haven on vacation in July!

I rode two wheels for a while and was never 100% comfortable when riding in the rain. A few months back I rode with some Harleys and some Goldwings into Mississippi. It rained on our way there. At one point when we got onto the interstate, it was raining and was a big curve of an onramp. My spyder plowed right through the turn no problem. At one point I felt like the other bikes were going too slow and taking it too easy on the turn.

Just one more reason I love my spyder.

The only problem I had riding the Spyder in the rain , other than the nanny kicking in incessantly while trying to get onto the highway at an entrace ramp, was the way the stock shield left the rain on my helmet faceshield. It creats a dead spot so rain just clings to the helmet instead of running off, even with Rain-X. Odd! I expect that with the CHAD installed now, we won't have any more problems of that nature. Very comforting ride in the rain. Safest I ever felt in a long distance wet ride, and I have ridden in the rain a long way on my Beemers.

I was out in the rain the other day and was very pleased with the steering and braking. Only problem I had was accelerating up a steep hill. That was mostly because I have gotten to used to quick take offs. A little less throttle and it did fine.
