• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We just quit ATVing due to a couple of injuries and have decided to get a Spyder for my wife. Though she's ok with riding on the back of whatever street bike I have she prefers to "ride her own". We're getting the Spyder because at age 60 we both just didn't feel like learning to ride a street bike safely was realistic for her (I've been at it consistently since my early teens). Initially I'll be riding my BMW R1200RT with her on her SPyder but am already considering a new RS-S SM5 before she even takes delivery of her new 2014 ST-S SE5. All of this leads to the poll topic... trying to get a read on how many wifes/spouses ride their own versus ride on the back (not that there's anything wrong with that!), and how many motorcycle/Spyder "mixed couples" are out there. Hopefully the results of this poll will prove interesting to us all.

Please vote ONLY if you have a spouse or significant other who rides with you regularly. Singles, sorry, maybe next time.

My husband and I share one spyder. We both have our motorcycle endorsements so we both can pilot the bike. We share...I drive alone or with my husband as co pilot and my husband drives alone or with me as co-pilot. It just depends on what we feel like. To be honest I do not like to share because the :spyder2: is so much FUN to drive. Eventually I hope to convince my husband to buy spyder number 2. :dg1:

We each have Spyders (Nancy had hers first), but for long trips we ride two-up, and I also sometimes ride my motorcycle if I feel like it. There was no "All of the above" answer, so I went with what we owned. :D

SPYDER-ING

Dee and I each have our own, she had hers before I met her and the same for me. I think it depends on how PASSIVE someone is.....Some people can be quite satisfied with being a PASSENGER , and others not....I can understand both sides of this tho...............Mike .....sent from my computer :yikes: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

I ride a 2008 Gold Wing and my wife just got her own 2013 Spyder RT Limited. She had been riding with me for 30+ years but recently she has been wanting to get her own. The Spyder seems to fit her pretty well.

If I can get that independently wealthy thing goin, we will own a second one. Until then, she never wants to drive any of the other vehicles, so she will be on the back of the spyder.

Just sayin'............

I voted one Spyder two up. Started out one Harley with my wife on the back. She wanted a Spyder so she got the ST-L, and then we were each on our own. We than took a long trip and only road the Spyder sharing the driving. That worked out so well that I now have the Harley for sale, and the plan is when that sells to trade the current Spyder in on a 2014 RT-L with matching RT-622 trailer.

my wife is also named Dee. Are we married to the same person?

Wannabe..!!

wife wants to drive but I have a sm5 and she can't handle the clutch thing...so we ryde double up and love it..!! :ohyea:

My wife rode with me for a couple of years on our 2010 Vulcan Voyager. Our dealer had Biketoberfest in 2012 and I got a test ride on a silver RT. I liked it and told Karen to try it out so without a motorcycle endorsement she got to ride around the dealers lot. That was it the hook was set and we bought a 2012 RT Limited on black Friday 2012. 8200 miles so far... When this Spyder gets paid for I was thinking of a new Indian Chieftain but that new drivetrain on the RT....

NOT

my wife is also named Dee. Are we married to the same person?
I can say without a doubt ......NO....Been there, done that , too many times. I finally learned my lessons. I am now permanently ENGAGED to my Spyders :2excited: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :hun:  :agree:.....Mike

Two Spyder family

We started out a two Harley family. I bought my ST Limited the end of May. Husband got bit and we bought cdavid' s RTS the week before Spyderquest. Love them both.

We share...
I hang on to the bars, and she tells me where to go!
But she's been telling me that for YEARS!! :roflblack:

2wheel/3wheel family

I got my first Harley and took my husband kicking and screaming to get his endorsement. We became a two Harley family. March of 2012 traded my Softail Deluxe for an RT S SE5. So now we are a 2wheel/3wheel. Although my husband keeps making comments about possibly getting an RT in the future. By the way, after my husband started riding he asked me why I hadn't told him how much fun it was to ride sooner.

Interesting results: as of this minute the poll indicates that 27% of the couples ride two vehicles, whether that be motorcycle/Spyder or Spyder/Spyder. I bet if you polled Harley or Goldwing groups that number would be lower, probably less than half that.

My wife does not like to ride. She says it is like standing in a hurricane. So, most of the time I ride by myself except when someone wants to go for a ride on the back of the bike/trike.

Same Here

:agree: The above statement describes us. One at a time or both at once

My wife and I like to ride our 2013 RS-S solo. Plan to buy a 2014 RT late next year so we can ride together on 2 spyders....She gets the RT.
