• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Handles (Screen Names)

I have never understood why we even need a "handle". Why can't we just use our own names. Why is everyone hiding behind their handle. Is it fear of getting found out. Is it hiding from the Law or IRS. Don't want the x to know where you are at so you don't have to give her her share. What is it. Why can't we just be who we are and not pretend to be someone else.

I have been Otter since my freshman year of high school, the number is a little more complicated.

Just sayin'............

Flaggerphil is the screen name I use on all forums I belong to. It's also my nickname in racing and was the name of a racing cartoon I used to do for a couple of racing magazines some years ago.

I sometimes wonder why some folks use long drawn out or hard to speak names on here ???

I chose mine so that when i meet people it is easy for them to remember my (Handle) name at the same time. (although some wish to forget it quickly :roflblack:)

ANY COMMENTS???????????????

I got mine from back in the days when I was a gangster..... Should I change it now since I am not a gangster anymore?

I have more usernames on forums than I can keep track of. roflmao Most forums I have 5-7. I've had everything from Minime to Tom Cruz, to Father Guido Sarducci. roflmao

I'd say on my car forums I have 20 plus usernames alone. lol

I know a few people that have as many or more too.

There's no reason that the government or my employers or anyone else needs to follow or track me, so I make it near impossible.

And I've never seen a reason to start a relationship of any sort on a forum, because it is so impersonal and everyone at some point or another (usually pretty often) takes your words wrong and things go bad quick sometimes.

Spyder Tony

I chose Spyder Tony because I needed a screen name to join the forum, and needed it to be easy enough to remember. I have since met several people from the forum in real life and they still call me Spyder Tony. What was a knee-jerk choice grew on me, and I am quite fond of it now. Even have a vest with the moniker on it.
