• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Fuel Cell Mod

Stuart Ostroff is heading out to the "Very Boaring Rally" in Duluth, MN. I took these pictures of his 3 gallon fuel cell mod and thought the group would be interested. (He's too busy to post right now)

The cell is mounted behind a Pelican case that's mounted to a removable rack fabrication. The fuel from the cell flows via gravity through a modified gas cap when the fuel valve is opened.

That is pretty cool, especially for longer trips. Or when you find a really good price on gas and wish you could buy more at that price. I have seen something similar but never actually set up on a spyder. Here is the link that I had seen before http://www.tourtank.com/tourtanks.html

I don't really care for the industrial look of the setup but it would be nice to have 9 gallons of gas on the Spyder. That would get most people to at least 250 miles between fill-ups. As I recall, lamonster could have used this on at least one leg of his western journey. :)

Now that you don't have to stop for fuel...what's the plan for bathroom breaks??? Is that mod on the front end?

Funny you should ask.

I actually ordered an EZ Leaker some years ago before my very first Iron Butt documented ride. I removed it from the packaging, looked at it, and shoved it in a drawer under some old sweaters. I think it is still there.

I know another Iron Butt guy - one of the real 'celebs' - who rode his Gold Wing 1200 miles without putting down a foot. He has his own version of the EZ Leaker, discretely installed on his machine, along with an actual trash can for all the wrappers and soda cans he discards. Word has it that the techs at his local dealer will not work on his 'Wing until it is fully steam-cleaned.

What was your question?

Stuart
