• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SPYDER FINANCING

How many of you guys let the dealer figure it out?

I understand that even though the Fed keeps lowering rates.... it doesn't make much difference in the rates charged for 'motorcycle' loans.

How much did you guys put down or plan on putting down and what kinds of rates are you getting??? Can-Am has such interest in the Spyder that from what I understand they'll have no factory specials on financing so we're all on our own.

I just put my $1,000 deposit down and got 9% financing from the dealer.

I'm watching rates to see if they go down much, if so I will refi with my credit union. You might find that it takes a fairly sizable rate decrease to make much of a difference in your monthly payment. There are all kinds of payment calculators available on-line - try plugging in different rates and you'll see what I mean. With that said, if we can save a few bucks that leaves us with more gas/beer/lunch money!
;D

I have to make atrip to the cu in the am.

Think it was about 4-6 % for a new unit when i was there last.

Will get back to yall......

4-6 isn't bad......... I was getting the same kind of (9%) deal that srarndt was getting from the dealer though...... even with prime being 3% right now, lol

Knoxville TVA CU was 5.49%/ 5 years, 6.49%/ 6 years with A credit. That was before the Fed started lowering overnight rate.

CU just told me 5.99 ......
I did not get how many months though....
Guessing 48
Will find out more later.

Waiting on a call from my dealers loan people to see what they have to offer.

Surprized that there is no factory program for financing. When I ordered mine (not in yet) I was told by the dealer (yeah, right, I believed a dealer) that there would be some program to help with financeing and insurance.

here in montreal, canada we can get a loan from bank 8% on 120 months so about 275.00 a month i know it is long term but plenty of money to ride the machine and gives us a chance to buy a lot of acc.

Hey duckster, I was told that because of the 'extreme demand for the vehicle, there most likely wouldn't be any factory financing, rebates, discount or promo" is seems like it's held true..... they even increased the MSRP of the Spyder since I ordered and I haven't even gotten mine yet.

I can't even imagine paying for anything like this for 10 years! But I guess for 8%, you can get pretty much whatever you want eh?

What you can do get 2 credit cards buy it with one card then transfer it to the other at a fix 3.99% be sure you have it all lined up cause the purchase is going to be at 12 to 22 %wildwillie

Dealer told me Can-Am had 15% and I told him they were smoking!!! Went to my Credit union and got 6.5% for up to 72 months payment will be $272 per month

Re: SPYDER FINANCING & Fog lights

Just picked up 2204 Wednesday, can't ride yet and it's still snowing. Dealer had no clue about any financing or insurance... different than during the sales pitch. They did give a insurance company they work with, but "we don't insure trikes in Michigan." Easy enough to get insurance other places.

Do the "fog lights" that are an option affect cooling? Seems they go where air intakes are presently. They replace the scoops in the front. Haven't seen them installed, but looks like they did a good job with design.

Anybody have comments about making the steering easier? I'm concerned that it could get twitchy with wind buffet or road conditions. Michigan is terrible for holes in the road during normal winters, this year is really bad.

K&W Cycle in Shelby Twp. They're at Auburn and Ryan, basicaly about a mile north of M-59 and Mound. The owner had imput for design too, but I wasn't aware of that at the demo rides.

We are actually using our home equity line of credit. We are setting ourselves up to pay off in two years and we are paying ourselves back at 8% and the interest is tax deductible at the end of the year.

On a side note, for you Michigan guys, check out the UP ride scheduled for Aug. I am from the Flint area and I think it is going to be a great ride.
