Sorry to ask a dumb question.
How big is this event, where does it take place, is it a nice place to scenic rides,
Does this take place at a dealership?

Just some questions! Sorry the last spyder event to was the BRP thing in Chicago!

I'm a little bit gun shy! About another spyder event!

I promise you it is not like that one in any which way or form....small town, live bands evey night, games, lots of diffrent ryde mapsof the area. the whole thing is put on by spyderlovers for spyderslovers. everything is low key and easy going with prizes and just good old fashion fun, good food, great people, and all about the spyders! It takes place in Cuba mo. Yres there is a dealership for the headquarters, THIS IS NOT A CORP EVENT! This is very home town and easy to get around in with lots going on and you will never be made to stand in long line to sign up to ryde a 4wheeler, or beaske to park your spyder down back and get on a shuttle to go see a seadoo. Here is the link spyderfest.com :2thumbs:

Reading that description makes me want to leave today, especially since I was born and raised in Missouri about 90 miles from you

Thanks for the info I will check it out!!

Yeah that BRP thing in chicago sucked! My wife told me when we left she will never go to another spyder event.

Tilty, this is an event put on by people for people. Nothing fancy, just fellowship and fun. I mean the hotels are the Super 8, Motel 6 and Best Western and the local Wagon Wheel. Very down to earth. Some great roads to ride with a variety of planned rides to choose from. Also plenty of time to meet others and make small group rides for the passport ride to win prizes. Lots of food and games from what I understand. Vendors to shop or dream about, depending on your wallet. Yes, there will be a lot of Spyders and a lot of people but I expect it will be far different than the Chicago Event. That was my third BRP Owners Event and I believe they truly learned their lesson. This year's event is in Maggie Valley, NC where people can gather and ride and not go broke. Give it another chance. I think you will be pleased.

I'm sure you'll have a great time at Spyderfest and the next BRP event in Maggie Valley will be nothing like the one in Chicago. I just got back from spending the day with the event planners and there is a good time planned for you all.

I went to the Chicage event and enjoyed it as my first event. I should REALLY enjoy Cuba and Spyderfest  If you decide to join us in Cuba maybe we could ride down together or back home. I will be leaving Rockton, IL, just north of Rockford, Tuesday night after work and stoppnig in Normal and comming home on Sunday.

I'm glad that you asked the question. I had no idea either. Thanks for submitting, and I thank those that responded.

Spyderfest is going to be a fun filled event for all Spyderlovers with plenty of food, fun, and rides around the state of Missouri. Cuba is about 80 miles southwest of St. Louis on I-44 in the rolling hills of the state.:2thumbs:
There is going to be 5-6 different rides that are organized for Friday which you can pick, or you can go on any of them on-your-own or with a group either Wednesday or Thursday. You will get a packet of maps and directions for them when you register.
Their is also a "passport" ride which you can do to local area attractions. Get your passport stamped at each stop and you will be entered to win several prizes with the grand prize of a custom paint job for your Spyder valued at $2500.
Check other threads on Spyderlovers for all the info that you will need or go to spyderfestus.com.
Hope to see you there, it will be :firstplace:

I wasn't that disappointed with the Chicago event but a number of us stayed at an affordable motel that was real close to the lunch / demo ride area and kind of did our own thing for part of the weekend. Having lived on the outskirts of Chicago for about 4 years in the early 80's, I knew that an organized (or unorganized as I heard was the case) ride through downtown Chicago was a disaster in the making and we did not take part in that. dltang and I never even made it into Chicago. In BRP's defense, sometimes things sound better in the planning stage than they end up being in the doing stage. :sour:

No doubt that Spyderfest will be a great event and might even set the bar incredibly high for how Spyder events should be. I have a feeling that this years BRP event in Maggie Valley will be very good too. Nice to hear that BRP is listening to Lamonster's input on this event.

Thanks for everybodys input it puts my mind at ease thinking they are all the same.

Are there any rooms still blocked off for spyder lovers?

You have to talk to the hotels direct to check on room availability...don't do it on the internet because it will say for sure that all are booked :gaah: (we had a reserve on all of them in town). As of a couple of days ago there were a few due to cancelations.
Good luck:2thumbs: , just make sure that you tell them you are comming for Spyderfest.

The Wagon Wheel had a cancellation and has a room with 2 beds available. Call Connie at 573-885-3411. It's the location for the Chili cookoff. :2thumbs:
