• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello all! I have been scoping out this site for about a year. I had a car accident two years ago and had to have a complete knee replacement last Sept. as a result of the accident. I have two Harleys but I just don't feel comfortable trying to ride them now. So I just purchased dtangs' 2008 Spyder, Deb and her husband are going to deliver it this saturday. Needless to say I'm getting excited, even though it will go into the garage until spring. I hope this satisfy's my wind in the face needs, and I'm sure it will. These bikes look so cool and you don't see them around my area much, that appeals to me as well. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as time goes by. George

:congrats: and :welcome:

I've traveled many miles with that Spyder and those folks and you couldn't be buying it from nicer people. Hope you get as much enjoyment as they did. Maybe see you at Spyderfest. :doorag:

We hate losing DTang and BJT, but we're always happy to get a new SpyderLover!

If you're coming of motorcycles give the Spyder some time to grow on you. It doen't happen to everyone but there have been some of us who, coming off motorcycles, had some great misgivings about the Spyder in the beginning. It may feeling twitchy and unstable to you. That is the way I started out.

I was actually afraid to go over 45 mph on my first, short ride. I am still amazed at how unconfortable I felt on the Spyder. It wasn't the Spyder, it was all me!

Once I learned to relax and let the Spyder do most of the work everything fell into place. I am glad I gave the Spyder a fair chance.

:welcome:and :congrats: on the new ryde. Like BajaRon said: there is a learning curve if coming off motorcycles. I found it took me about 500 miles before I was comfortable with :spyder2:. There is a tendency to overcontrol and that is what makes the :spyder2: feel like it has a mind of its own. See how little input you can put into the handle bars.

Once you start ryding, don't hesitate to post any questions. There are a lot of great people on the site.

Congratulations, George!!!! Welcome to SpyderLovers.com. Best place on the internet for Spyder info!

Will look forward to seeing you around!! You're going to love owning and ryding a Spyder!!!!!

:welcome: Give it some time and you'll love it. Just relax and injoy the ride. I get thru Effingham every now and then as I have a daughter living in Robinson. Maybe we can do a ride some time. Ben:ohyea:

Teddy & I have been in that rear view mirror for many miles & many smiles

Thanks everyone for the welcomes! I'm sure there is going to be a learning curve on this:f_spider:. I don't know if I'll be ready for a long trip in time for the Fest, but maybe a good long day trip would be a good thing:yes:? BMW, we'll have to stay in touch for a spring meetup, Robinson is very close. Later, George
