• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder boo boo

I let a friend who drives an RT drive my F3. I won't do that again.

Along those lines, my neighbor brought his Cat Skid Steer over for me to use cleaning up some trees we cut down. I was swapping implements when I broke both latch arms. I picked up the pieces, took them over to the office and asked his secretary to have him call me. I told him I would order new parts. He said he would just weld the pieces back on. His comment was, "stuff gets broke around here and no one knows how". It pays to be honest.

Since you've already called, and the horses are already "Out of the Barn"; it's too late to mention that it's usually best to NOT tell an insurance company about anything... unless you want them to pay for it. nojoke
My reasoning? In today's Multi-Tiered rating systems; they can use almost anything that happens, as an aide in determining what your rates are going to be...

...But somehow; it got mentioned anyway... :D
But I am glad to hear that he's stepping up to the plate on this one! Legally or not; he certainly should feel morally compelled to pay for it.

Thanks Bob. I was thinking about that as I was talking to them. Nothing like a double bite on the on the a$$ for something you have no control over. Is that what is meant by turning the other cheek?

Off topic, but is that a parade flag holder on your trailer hitch, and if so, where did you get it? Also, glad you guys are still friends.

Thats a Rivco flag holder. My only complaint is that its not a 90 degree and I can't find one on their site. The bracket that its bolted onto is a 1/4in x 2in x 4in that has a slight bend in the middle bolted to the hitch bracket by the ball. I bought it from some guy on this site.

The one big problem with the flag mount on the hitch is that its mounted on the swing arm. On rough roads the bad boy bounces pretty bad. Make sure you have a retainer pin near the top going through the flag pole otherwise it can come out into traffic in worst case scenarios. It happened to me twice in the same day at 25 mph city streets. Fortunately no traffic. I also attach a tether line from the top of the pole to the passenger grips.

Sorry this happened, glad your still friends. When I picked up the new Spyder the dealer made me drive it around his lot to get used to the controls and brake. Coming from 2 wheels and 4 (atv's), Those vehicles have pegs and not floorboards. The pegs keep your foot in the sweet spot for the footbrake. Someone not used to floorboards can easily make that mistake.

Laugh if you will, but I practiced sitting in my garage and practiced locating the footbrake. My wife wants to drive the spider and has drove it around in parking lots, like in the brp video. I made sure the first thing she learned is where that foot brake was!:banghead:

Seriously? An "experienced" rider crashed your Spyder because there was no hand brake? Didn't he use the foot brake on his two wheeler? That just seems weird to me. Every motorcycle I've ever owned had a foot brake and I used them.

I agree

:agree: The first things they taught us in motorcycle class was friction control of the clutch and braking-both front & back. Glad your friend is ok-easier to repair spyder than friend.
