• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder alignment

While reading a post recently about a Spyder laser alignment I was wondering what else would be done during that service?

When I had my own shop many moons ago whenever we did even a minor service we always checked the drive train, brake function and wheels for run out and inspected the tires for correct pressure and for sidewall damage and general condition. This saved our bacon more than once especially after major engine work where the machine was faster than when we got it in!

When a customer complains of poor handling or pulling to one side or another are the wheels, rims and tire pressures and belt drive checked before the laser alignment is performed?
How often does the laser need to be calibrated and are there more than one laser used in the alignment? ;)

Lastly how frequently do they need to be done?

Well..!!

Right off...the tire pressure is checked, the rear wheel alignment, belt tension and runout, brake pad condition and buds system is used to reset steering angle. Depending on who and where it is being done more could be inspected. Those outside a shop have little additional equipment they can travel with. Squared Away do additinal work if requested such as swaybars lighting and guage work...

Thanks Gene, that is how we do it but not everyone else does it that way.
