• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well... Took her out to the gym tonight and back. Not a long ride, but long enough to heat her up twice. Parked her in the driveway for a bit to cool off.

Same story as last time... Fired her up to back her into the garage, oil light stayed lit...Only this time the dash was scrolling "check engine". Shut her down, counted to ten and fired back up with the same message, oil light off but then it went away. Third try, started with no oil light, and no message.:yikes:

Noticed a backfire (stock pipe) and some coughs at the intake tonight that weren't new, but I hadn't really had any of since the first steering update before Gatlinburg.

Maybe this next trip to the dealer will show an actual code. The first time they looked at it for the oil light, they said everything checked fine.

I've got a couple of other things for them to look at anyway... namely either a leaking coolant cap or cracked coolant tank. I'll drop it on Saturday and let them keep it the week. I'll be on the road for work all that week anyway.

Kind of a bummer though. :(

I am on my third oil sensor so maybe yours is going too. The symptoms seem alike so I tend toward that. Bill

I don't know anything about the oil sensor thing but it sounds serious enough for a trip to the dealer.

My coolant tank had a fitting crack on the reservoir and had to be replaced at about 20k.

Also on the back firing coughing thing. It seems to be mostly the evaporative canister after steering upgrade. In my case it was a loose tube entering the carb that I knocked off while changing the spark plugs. You might ask them to check these as it is easy to do and easy to fix once the panels are off.

Good luck

my oil light was staying on .... the dealer replaced oil sending unit switch ...worked ...

I had a crached coolant tank as well towards the top

oil light

Its probably:2thumbs: the oil sending unit I just had the same problem and that was the fix

Bingo... Dealer has had it a bit over a week, and today told me it was the oil sending unit/sensor as predicted.

They haven't told me anything about the leak yet... But said the sending unit should be in any day now... Which I hope is true.

Weather has been cold and rainy here since I took it to the dealer... so no big deal.

So in talking to the dealer... BRP has a parts Warehouse in Atlanta... But that warehouse only serves their Seedoos and ATV's. When there are parts in common with the Spyder they do come out of there, but mostly via Canada.

They are still waiting on the part. They have a tracking #, but it does not show status, which tells me the box hasn't been scanned by UPS as of yet in Canuckland.

I hope I don't have to wait on a stupid part for long, though I think they would gladly take one out of their demo for me if it came to that.

AS for the coolant leak, it was not the cap or tank, but what they think were loose hoses. Those have been inspected and tightened.

2nd update was done.

Just waiting on the oil pressure sending unit to arrive.
