There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2017 vs. 2016

With the MSRP of a 2017 F3 LTD being just a tad shy of 30 grand I think I'd rather get a marked-down 2016 and add the trunk to it. The dealer 40 miles from me has a 2016 F3 LTD in red marked down to $22,999. Adding 2 grand for the trunk makes it $24,999 or $25K rounded off, savings of almost $5k is a no-brainer for me.

Hard to believe that after spending that type of coin for a limited, that you still have to buy the plastic cover to go on after removing the trunk.

Did you buy it ?

Really? You've got to be kidding... Oh I believe you alright, I just cannot believe that brp would sell it at that high price, advertising it as 'removable' when it is not truly removable unless an extra bit is bought! Dodgy marketing. And do we presume the paint will be an exact match? Deal-breaker... I think that if I were to buy one, the dealer would need to throw in the cover to get the sale...

This may be very well in my future to add to the triple black. Also hope the auto level air will also be retrofit able to the 16's as well, getting tired of always having to bring along a battery powered compressor to adjust being single rider to two up riding on the fly.

"Battery powered compressor"? I kept the tiny hand pump from the Vision. It's about 8" x 1" and includes a gauge. It only takes about 20 pumps to move from 45 to 60 psi. I actually used it to pump the shock from 0 to 45 at dealer pickup, and it was pretty effortless.

:nopic: and are they available online?

So you are saying that the audio connection from amplifier to the radio already installed on the 2016 F3 L?

I have a F3T but yes, it appears all the wiring for the top case is there. Aux power, lighting, and audio. I'm just guessing as they aren't labeled but all the plugs are there capped and ready to get plugged into. If you do a build and price on a 16 F3T or F3L you will see the top case as an option so I'm thinking they are be prepped for them. Unfortunately, the only thing under the back seat that is labeled is the accessory power so I can't tell what's what for sure. I'm sure a dealer can confirm. Then again, they might confirm that all those plugs and connections are for something entirely different. I'm just guessing and hoping. I could be completely wrong. It's happened a time or two before... :)

I can't see the plugs shown in Lamont's Spyder trunk removal video under the rear seat of my F3-L, but I also can't remove the rear cowl easily as I have the fixed BRP backrest. My guess would be that they are under that rear cowl, if anywhere, as people would rarely take the rear cowl off, so BRP could keep their "little secret" pretty much under wraps until the 2017 was released.

The fact that BRP say it "fits the 2016" does tend to indicate that the wiring is already in place, but.........

Sorry for reviving an old thread.

I have recently bought my first :spyder2:, a 2017 F3 Limited and would like to know how I can get the part number for the plastic cover so I can take the top box off? I only need the top box on for when I go on long road trips and overnighters. I spend a lot of time just riding the local back roads and really like the bagger look for when I just want to cruise the beaches.
