• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder 1sts (for me)

This weekend were a couple of first for me on the Spyder. Yesterday,i had my 1st ryde on the interstate (64 near Wentzville, MO. Also saw another Spyder on Wentzville Parkway, 1st I've seen on the road in my area.
Today, got caught in the rain for the 1st time. Weatherman said rain after noon. It was 8:00 AM. I think someone needs to sell them some more accurate watches.
It was a short ride home and Spyder was great! On 2 wheels I (personally) would have been in trouble.
Cooler weather for the next few days so Spyder will get a couple days off.

Did you have to stip to don your raingear? :dontknow:
I have found that for just a light drizzle; if I'm at highway speed, the bike "shovels" all of the rain around me!

Great advice from both of you except ryding naked would not be a pretty sight ( according to my wife).
fortunately I was only 10 minutes from home so it was bearable. I need to get some rain gear for just such situations. Is Firstgear a good choice?

FirstGear is good...
I like TourMaster, and my Missus loves her Frogg Toggs...
I guess that it comes down to finding which set you like the most.
I like a one-pice suit, but I didn't need the "warmth" of the FirstGear suit. I have used TourMasters over the past 30 yeats, and they've always kept me dry in even the worst "Toad-Stranglers" imagineable.

"Ride Nekkid"??; I'd hate to ruin my neighbor's appetites like that!

Good news..!!

You are getting to know your machine well. Be safe but get the gear you need for all occasions...:clap:

I have had good luck with Firstgear. Bob D is right about not getting wet riding in the rain. You get in trouble when you stop and the rain drops end up in your lap.

So that is what causes Wet Nuggies...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

In my experience, Firstgear is always a good choice. They make excellent gear. Tourmaster is also a very good choice and I have a pair of Fieldshear rain pants that have worked very well also.

I'm avoiding driving in the rain also, it's good to know it handled safely. :2thumbs:
how was the braking on the :spyder2:

Congratulations on your Spyder firsts. I remember back before I rode my own Spyder I thought for sure that riding in the rain had to really suck. My first ride in the rain was in a big thunderstorm and I just remember thinking that this didn't suck nearly as much as I thought it would.
