Have spent the better part of eight hours disassembling and reassembling my 2018 F3-T. Took the kendas off and replaced with Vredesteins all around. While apart I looked @ the brakes, about half gone, so placed an order with Ron for new brakes, and caliper reducer.
While waiting for the order, which was here in a day and a half thank you for your outstanding service as always Ron. I went to Lowes and got some of the threaded clips to attach to the tabs on the belt guard covers. It was tough enough to remove the two 10mm nuts, I wasn't going to fight with trying to put them back on. This modification made reattaching the belt guards so much easier.
Used silicone spray lube on the rubber drive line shock absorbers under the sprocket on the rear wheel. pumped up the brake pedal before turning on the key, went for a nice ride, seated the new brakes and scrubbed the mould release compound off the new tires.
I found I have a belt tensioner on this. I have a question for the forum, what size roller is used on the BRP tensioner?? Mine is less than 2 inches in diameter. Have the BRP tensioners been upgraded since they were first introduced?? I recall a lot of problems with failures and destruction of the drive belt when they were first introduced. Having purchased this used from I-Motor I was not able to discuss this with the original owner.
I noticed that the catalytic converter impedes the swing arm from dropping much after removal of the lower shock bolt. I was able to work the drive belt off by side ward pressure and rotation of the rear tire. This allows you to remove the rear tire and not have to redo the belt tension, tracking or alignment. Saves the laser alignment if you have had this done previously also.
Now @ 7700 miles I am ready to travel and not have any concerns for neglected maintenance. Oil change @ 9000 miles and will be good to go.
