There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spraying handle bars Black

Thinking I want to either spray my handle bars black or Rubber coat them black. Anyone do this? I would love to just mask everything off and spray instead of removing the handle bars from the bike with all the electronics involved.

Thanks
Rich

While I'm all about the shiny stuff: this is an effective way to reduce the glare on your instrument panel.
If you're going to mask and spray it: you could try just painting the leading edge of the bars first, and see how that works out.
Or is this a styling exercise only? :dontknow:

Styling :)

purely cosmetic Bob, ive seen other Black newer model RT's with black bars and I like the look a lot;)

If you're going to paint. You might want to get adhesion promoter even where the tape is being put.. But if you get them powder coated you won't ever have to worry about them again. IMHO

Have seen a few

We have several ryders that have "Plasti dip" the bars and other chrome parts and it looks great. I have tried it on body parts and works well but found that you do have to touch up quite a bit. Good start cause if you don't like it you can peel it off and if you do and want it permanent you can powder coat....

I did it. Twice actually. Used PlastiDip first as wanted to be able to go back if I didn't like it. Well...loved it, but like some say it has to be touched up especially if you have a friend who wanted to sit on it and scraped her rings on it :banghead:.

So, I peeled it off, bought some Krylon satin , masked and sprayed. Just enough sheen without being blinding. Also did the lower panels and used HI Temp black on the muffler tip.

Painting your bars

If you are going to paint, here's a tip I use a lot. Places that are hard to tape, I use foil. It molds to odd shaped & holds on its own. You can then just mask the edges. Just my .02
